As a federal Crown corporation, Atomic Energy of Canada Limited (AECL) has a mandate to enable nuclear science and technology and manage the Government of Canada’s radioactive waste liabilities. Since 2015, AECL has been delivering its mandate through a Government-owned, Contractor-operated (GoCo) business model, whereby a private-sector organization, Canadian Nuclear Laboratories (CNL), is responsible for managing and operating AECL’s sites on its behalf, pursuant to long term agreements. AECL’s objectives under the GoCo model include accelerating Environmental Remediation Management, managing the Federal Nuclear Science and Technology Work Plan in support of government priorities and needs, and building a world-class nuclear laboratory that fulfils government priorities and grows commercial revenues, while reducing or containing costs and risks to Canada.
What you will do:
As the Senior Analyst, Technology & Innovation, you will will report to the Director of Technology, Innovation, and Commercialization and be at the forefront of nuclear innovation. In this role, you will help advance AECL’s mission in nuclear innovation by overseeing and guiding related CNL activity, including in technology development and the assessment of proposals for science and technology investments, in addition to ensuring strategic alignment between AECL and CNL missions.
This role also offers the opportunity to coordinate with research and development programs, engage with key vested parties including federal agencies, industry clients, and academia, and assist AECL and CNL in nuclear advancements aligned with Canadian government priorities.
What you bring:
· Bachelor's in engineering, science, business or other related discipline, or equivalent combination of education and experience in relevant roles.
· Experience working in a nuclear-related environment, or similar field, and/or on development of nuclear technology or related technology transfer.
· Investigative and strategic thinking abilities, coupled with creative problem-solving skills and attention to enable the anticipation of barriers and the development of effective strategies.
· Excellent written and oral communication skills, as well as highly developed social skills, to effectively convey program aspects to various vested parties including CNL, the federal government, and other third parties.
· Strong self-discipline and exceptional organizational skills to aid in prioritizing work, maintaining focus, and ensuring that projects are completed on time and to a high standard.
· Highly IT literate, proficient in Microsoft Office products (e.g., Word, PowerPoint) and other standard business software packages to create documents, presentations, and reports that are professional and effective.

o The hiring range for this role is between $97,900 and $113,200 based on compensable factors including, but not limited to qualifications and experience.
o The current salary range for this role is broader than the hiring range. Employees progress through the salary scale based AECL’s compensation philosophy and procedures.

· This position can be based out of AECL’s Ottawa or Chalk River, Ontario office locations.
· This competition will have two rounds of interviews.
· The selected candidate must successfully meet Government of Canada security clearance requirements.
