Job Description:
We are seeking a skilled and detail-oriented Specialist Project Manager to lead and support project execution while driving the implementation of Earned Value Management (EVM). This role will be responsible for ensuring project performance is accurately measured using EVM principles, assisting with scheduling by taking actual project measurements, and supporting other projects in implementing EVM methodologies.
Essential Functions:
- With functional leader support, develop the Work Breakdown Structure, project schedules, resource plans, and risk management strategies.
- Monitor and control project performance using industry best practices.
- Act as a bridge between different teams, ensuring alignment of project goals and priorities
- strong collaboration with cross-functional teams, including Engineering, Quality Assurance (QA), and Test Site teams, to ensure successful project execution and performance tracking.
- Implement EVM processes across projects to track cost, schedule, and performance metrics.
- Ensure proper integration of EVM with project planning and control processes.
- Develop and maintain EVM baselines, including Planned Value (PV), Earned Value (EV), and Actual Cost (AC).
- Train and assist other Project Managers in adopting EVM methodologies.
- Additionally, the candidate will be expected to assist with general project-related activities, supporting the broader needs of the project team to maintain smooth operations.
- Utilize program management tools to monitor and report program performance to objectives (including budget, schedule, and other management requirements), and facilitate project coordination and decision-making.
- Able to travel up to 5%.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s Degree and minimum 4 years of prior relevant experience. Graduate Degree and a minimum of 2 years of prior related experience. In lieu of a degree, minimum of 8 years of prior related experience.
- PMP Certification is preferred
Desired Skills:
- Strong knowledge of scheduling tools and EVM Software.
- Experience in cost control, budgeting, and forecasting.
- Ability to work effectively in a cross-functional environment, facilitating collaboration between engineering, QA, and test site teams.
- Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills.
- Strong communication and leadership skills, with the ability to influence stakeholders at all levels
Eligibility Criteria:
- Must be eligible for registration with the Controlled Goods Program;
- Must be eligible to obtain and maintain a government of Canada Reliability status and Secret Level 2/NATO Secret security clearance;
- Must be eligible to meet the requirements for U.S. International Traffic in Arms Regulations (ITAR).
