What Is the Opportunity?
The joint venture between AtkinsRéalis and Aecon has been awarded a contract with Ontario Power Generation (OPG) to carry out the Pickering Refurbishment project. The project involves refurbishment of four reactors at the Pickering Generating Station and consists of two phases – a Definition Phase and an Execution Phase. The Definition Phase includes the construction of a full-scale reactor mock-up to simulate key elements of the refurbishment work, and the development, procurement and testing of specialized tooling required for the project. The Execution Phase involves refurbishment of the reactor cores using the tools and methods that were developed and tested during the Definition Phase
The Manager of Onboarding and Training is looking for the ideal candidate to join the team as a Training Coordinator. The Training Coordinator is responsible for the onboarding and site qualification of all project management and/or trade employees supporting CanAtom projects at the Darlington and Pickering Nuclear Generating Station.
What You'll Do Here:
- Liaise with HR and/or construction team to establish resource requirements for professional and union job roles.
- Receive help requisitions and communicate with union halls to meet the demand as identified by the construction team.
- Collaborate with client to forecast and prepare for project training demands.
- Interfaces with client to ensure that training demand is identified and supported where not provided by CanAtom.
- Provide oversight to CBT room.
- Manage the nuclear onboarding training coordination and qualification maintenance for new and existing project employees including:
- Project/task specific training needs assessment.
- Onboard/offboard requests in client database.
- Assigning/removing qualifications in respective project and client LMS.
- Create training schedules and work with field to schedule re-qualification training.
- Receive and process supporting documentation to meet legislated internal and client requirements.
- Provide weekly training reports to the field.
What You Bring to the Team:
- Two to three years related experience.
- Knowledge of learning management systems and other learning technologies.
- Strong analytical/problem solving skills.
- High proficiency in MS Office (Word, PowerPoint, Excel, and Outlook).
- Ability to communicate effectively both orally and in writing.
- Ability to work collaboratively and effectively in teams.
- Ability to plan, manage, and prioritize multiple, concurrent assignments and tasks.
- Ability to consistently meet deadlines.
- Comfortable working in a rapidly changing environment.
- Strong sense of urgency and accountability.
- Knowledge of project management concepts.
- Strong decision-making skills.
