Health, Safety, and Security Assistant

Reporting to the Supervisor of HSQE and Security Assurance the Health, Safety, and Security Assistant will support the maintenance and enhancement of health, safety, and security programs and initiatives on the Canada Line, a fully automated public transit railway connecting Vancouver to Richmond and Vancouver to the Airport.
Location: Canada Line Operation (Vancouver, Richmond, and Vancouver Airport).
Your role within the team:
- Assist with site inspections during both day and night shifts.
- Conduct audits and participate in risk reviews.
- Observe contractors' sites and support orientations.
- Provide routine on-the-job support, including respirator fit testing and confined space assessments.
- Collect and analyze data related to health, safety, and security.
- Address non-conformances and provide detailed reports.
- Participate in departmental safety meetings.

The ideal candidate:
- Minimum a diploma or on the path of achieving a diploma in health, safety or security.
- Experience in health, safety and security programs including conducting inspections and risk assessments is an asset.
- Proper analytical and data collection skills.
- Ability to work flexible hours, including day and night shifts.
- Excellent communication and teamwork skills.
- Hours of Work:
- This position mainly works on day shift but since the Canada Line is a 24/7 operation, some night shift and odd hours of work are required which will be arranged in advance.

Expected compensation for this role is between Pay Range $62,200 - $85,500 annually (Only Applicable to British Columbia). Base salaries are determined according to several parameters like skills, experience, and potential impact on the role. Internal and external competitiveness are also taken into account in our offers.
