Configuration Management Manager

Your role within the team:
Manage the engineering change control process in a large multidisciplinary project, including oversight of the safety-related and non-safety-related design changes and production of related project and internal documentation
Manage and ensure effective use of engineering tools for the purpose of executing engineering scopes of work. Engineering tools include (not limited to) document management, N296.7 engineering tools, and requirements tracking tools (ie. DOORS™).Implement and oversee the production of the integrated dataset, including production and management of any required procedures, for the overall project requirements tracking database .
Responsible for developing and implementing Engineering Plans for the project, or phase of the project, for all pertinent scopes of work.
Technical integration and interface control both within the project across the various disciplines involved, with the JV members, and with the client.
Ensure qualified and appropriate staff are working on the project and are assigned work within their experience and skills.
Oversight of technical deliverables under responsibility, with respect to budget, schedule and quality, in alignment with nuclear codes and standards.
Review and approve key technical documentation for the project, or phase of the project.
Management Skills:
Collaborate with project managers, engineers, contractors, and other stakeholders to ensure best practices are fully integrated into project planning and execution.
Build and maintain strong relationships with internal and external stakeholders to facilitate successful project outcomes.
Ability to drive process improvement and strong reporting skills.
Ensure that reports are analyzed and presented in a way that highlights critical management problems and opportunities for effective execution of the project.
Assess the work and provide manhours utilization plan.
Oversee the completion of project milestones leveraging tools/automation and best practices.
Identify and analyze various project key performance indicators and metrics. .
Team Development and Leadership:
Lead, mentor, and develop a high-performing team.
Foster a collaborative and results-oriented team environment, promoting professional development and continuous improvement.
Conduct performance reviews, provide feedback, and manage team resources effectively.
Develop mentor and support your teams on project / technical delivery.
The ideal candidate
Engineering degree in a core discipline (Mechanical, Chemical, Civil, Electrical) from an accredited University
Registered Professional Engineer in a Province of Canada (member in good standing).
Minimum 10 years of design experience in their core engineering discipline
Minimum 5 years of experience leading engineering teams
Minimum 3 years of nuclear or other regulated industry with focus on engineering change control
Experience managing multi-disciplinary work with significant stakeholder interface requirements.
Experience managing and/or performing work under nuclear quality management systems such as CSA N286, CSA N299.
Working knowledge of industry codes and standards in their core engineering discipline.
Demonstrated business acumen.
Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
Willing to travel to and potentially work at project sites to meet corporate needs (Note: the initial site location is at the Mississauga head office in Ontario)
Security Clearance with Public Services and Procurement Canada is a condition of employment
