What is the Opportunity?
Aecon is dedicated to inspiring a learning culture that promotes high performance and organizational health and is looking for a dedicated Nuclear Learning Experience Designer. As part of the Aecon University Learning & Development team, reporting to the Learning Design Team Lead, this role will exclusively support the learning needs of the Nuclear Sector, and as such, will have a reporting line to the Sr. Director Human Resource, Nuclear. You will partner with the business to identify learning gaps and create solutions that when incorporated into day-to-day operations will enable meaningful operational results.
What You'll Do Here:
- Leverage internal subject matter experts to build relevant learning objectives, best-fit delivery methods and build meaningful and creative solutions to support Nuclear specific training initiatives.
- Deep collaboration with subject matter experts and project training teams (CanAtom, SMR-X, TG, SGRT, and Shoreline)
- As required, facilitate train the trainer sessions to prepare instructors and project stakeholders
- Organize and maintain project planning for all project tasks and stakeholders
- Evaluate project success of solutions during and post-go live, making appropriate updates
- Proactively analyze internal Aecon University procedures, approaches and solutions for future refinement
What You Bring to the Team:
- Technically savvy – must be able to disseminate complicated technical concepts clearly and succinctly to a variety of audiences with various needs
- Demonstrated ability to work with highly technical, detail-heavy content, including regulatory documentation that is complex in nature
- Strong process orientation with a disciplined approach to structure, accuracy, and compliance
- 5+ years demonstrated experience in adult learning principles, design techniques, and innovative learning solutions
- Demonstrated experience in hands-on design and development of blended learning solutions (i.e., instructor-led, e-learning, virtual-learning, support resources)
- Ability to analyze learning needs, identify learning gaps, and develop effective learning solutions (i.e., instructor-led, e-learning, virtual-learning, support resources)
- Ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously, set deadlines, and work within budget and time constraints
- Experience in the Nuclear and/or construction industry an asset.
- Technical proficiency requirements
- Advanced skills using Microsoft applications (PowerPoint, Excel, Word, MS Teams)
- Full proficiency in Articulate 360 (Storyline, Rise)
- Adobe Suite Tools (Photoshop, PremierePro, InDesign, Illustrator, etc.)
- Familiarity with other authoring and design tools (e.g., Captivate, Camtasia, Canva, Snagit, etc.) an asset
