JOB SUMMARY:
The Senior Analyst is accountable to provide strategic, technical and analytical support to a department. As a member of SaskPower’s management team, this position is responsible to assist with and provide services to management regarding the administration, maintenance and management of strategic and operational functions that align with departmental and corporate goals and objectives.
The Nuclear Regulatory Affairs team is responsible for ensuring that SaskPower’s nuclear projects meet all provincial and federal regulatory requirements including specific nuclear licensing information, including site evaluation information. This role is responsible for supporting the Site Evaluation Process under the Nuclear Safety and Control Act, with a focus on planning, scheduling, contract coordination, and data management. The Senior Analyst will work closely with internal subject matter experts and external contractors to facilitate the development and execution of Statements of Work (SOWs), manage technical documentation and support regulatory readiness for the Licence to Prepare Site (LTPS) application
KEY ACCOUNTABILITIES:
- Provide research, analysis, administration for site evaluation data and maintenance for functional processes and procedures, utilized in the development of strategies and business initiatives that address the organization’s requirements
- Document, process and maintain databases, reports and files with regards to employee matters and strategic and confidential information within SaskPower’s Integrated Management System (IMS).
- Prepare, review analyze and edit strategic documents and reports including defining and evaluating the problem, offering possible alternative solutions and recommending specific courses of action
- Working with project leads to ensure coordinated execution of all site evaluations.
- Respond to inquiries and provide recommendations regarding confidential and strategic programs, policies and procedures that have significant impact on SaskPower’s operations and people processes
- Assist with identifying business opportunities and solutions by participating in strategy sessions to address business needs
- Maintain knowledge of nuclear and energy industry developments and best practices related to site evaluation
- Manage and maintain strategic relationships by supporting corporate strategic initiatives and special projects as required
- Develop and maintain relationships with appropriate internal and external subject matter experts
- Other related duties as assigned
KNOWLEDGE/SKILLS/ABILITIES:
- Degree in Environmental Science, Engineering or other related equivalent AND/OR;
- Related professional designation(s) and/or certification(s) AND/OR;
- Three (3) years of related experience in contract management, document control, planning coordination as it relates to technical information and large projects
- Excellent analytical, research and problem solving skills
- Excellent oral and written communication skills
- Demonstrated skill in computer applications such as Microsoft
- Ability to work in a team environment with minimal supervision
- Ability to deal with complex situations with confidentiality and professionalism
- Ability to foster a culture focused on safety, innovation and teamwork
- Demonstrated skill in SaskPower’s competencies
- Must have a continuing record of professional development
