Overview
AtkinsRéalis is looking for a Senior Electrical Engineer to join our growing team based in one of our available office locations in either Halifax, Ottawa, Toronto-GTA, Sudbury, Winnipeg, Calgary or Vancouver. In this role you will be responsible for the electrical design and execution of a wide variety of projects, with a focus on serving our National Defense Portfolio for upgrade and expansion of buildings and related base infrastructure across Canada. Subject matter expertise in electrical building systems including power utilities & distribution, grounding systems, lightning protection, lighting, fire alarm, security systems, communication, control systems and sustainable building initiatives will set you apart. Project experience should include training centers, vehicle and fleet maintenance, research laboratories, operational headquarters, personnel accommodation and ancillary facilities. Experience in the analysis of power distribution systems including short circuit studies, protective device coordination, arc flash & shock hazard, and power factor study & correction will be an additional asset. The successful candidate will be responsible for maintaining existing client relationships and developing new clients, coordinating work with other offices and disciplines, and satisfying customer expectations and requirements. Your role
- Lead role for the electrical engineering commitments in accordance with scope, schedule, budget and procedures to ensure successful project completion.
- Resolving complex design/project execution issues through the development of innovative solutions as required. Apply Project Management principles on management of own projects and of team members.
- Manage electrical staff resources assigned to projects, mentor continuous development and participate in opportunities to recruit new team members.
- Providing technical guidance and quality assurance to electrical staff to ensure the technical adequacy of electrical engineering project work.
- Participating in the preparation of estimates and project proposals (or coordinating resources to do so) and approving the estimates for Electrical Engineering.
- Lead and manage the delivery of the electrical design and systems in multi-disciplinary projects from preliminary design through completion.
- Develop new business and support the growth of the National Defense market.
About you
- Bachelor's Degree in Electrical Engineering. Registered as a Professional Engineer (P. Eng) with eligible for registration with multiple provinces in Canada.
- 10+ years’ experience in electrical consulting, with significant exposure to National Defense projects. Knowledge and application of the Canadian Electrical Code and applicable industry and regulatory standards.
- Experience in a consulting engineering environment, managing time, resources, and budget allocations.
- Strong client focus, including taking initiatives for Business Development, Marketing, and responding to RFPs.
- Willing to occasionally travel to project sites within Canada.
Ability to obtain CISD Level II (SECRET) Clearance.

Expected compensation for this role is between Pay Range $135,000 - $160,000 annually (Only Applicable to British Columbia). Base salaries are determined according to several parameters like skills, experience, and potential impact on the role. Internal and external competitiveness are also taken into account in our offers.
