Due to increased customer demand, Cameco Fuel Manufacturing is seeking three temporary Pilger Operators to join our team. Pilger Operators are responsible for operating and maintaining tube pilgering equipment used for the production of nuclear fuel tubes; ensuring that they meet high standards of quality and safety. The temporary term is expected to be for 16 months.
Position and Responsibilities
Located in the Cobourg plant and reporting to the Tubing Supervisor, the position typically involves the following activities:
- Operation and preventive maintenance of cold pilgering equipment
- The performance of in-process product and process inspections and making decisions regarding how to react to the results
- Performing tooling changes and equipment set-up on pilger and tube cutting equipment
- Monitor machine operation and make adjustments as needed to maintain quality of product
- Utilizing your knowledge of policies and practices to solve operational problems on your own
- Cleaning of equipment and debris from the work area.
- Entry of production information and notes into the electronic system
- These positions are expected to work 12-hour continental shifts.
Education and Qualifications
- High School diploma.
- Mechanical aptitude and understanding of industrial equipment operation
Assets
- At least two years of experience working in a manufacturing environment.
- Technical background such as a trade ticket and/or mechanical technology
