Overview
AtkinsRéalis is one of the key delivery partners for the Toronto Pearson Airport expansion and redevelopment. We are hiring for an Environmental Planner to join our growing team. This role will support the successful delivery of complex projects within the organization, ensuring that they are executed according to scope, schedule, cost, quality standards, and risk management protocols. The program requires a wealth of experience in managing large infrastructure projects, particularly in the context of international airport development or other similar complex programs.

Your role
Collaborates with internal and external stakeholders to identify and mitigate/manage environmental risks associated with Pearson LIFT (Long-term Investment in Facilities and Terminals) program.
Consults in conjunction with GTAA Environmental Services with appropriate agencies regarding environmental plans and monitors regulations that affect the Pearson LIFT program.
Conducts environmental reviews of Facility Alteration Permit (FAP) related to the Pearson LIFT program in conjunction with GTAA Environmental Services to ensure compliance with environmental requirements and standards.
Reviews & tracks progress with respect to program related environmental aspects and mitigations and provides Management level reporting to highlight trends and make recommendations to support effective decision-making.
Coaching, mentoring, and supporting the career development of GTAA staff.
About you
Typically, over 5 years' experience, with a minimum of 3 years of professional experience in a relevant role in the environmental planning sector within the construction/development sector.
Experience of monitoring, tracking and delivering environmental aspects in the infrastructure/development sector. Experience in large complex programs considered an asset.
Experience working with federal and provincial environmental regulatory agencies, and knowledge of federal, provincial, and municipal, regulatory requirements (e.g. IAA, CEPA, Fisheries Act, etc.).
Experience in management and reporting of complex contaminated sites.
Strong technical capability in all project phases and ability to utilize data analytics and experience in writing technical reports.
Recognized degree in related environmental sciences/studies, engineering, or related field and professional qualification (QP designation) considered an asset.

Expected compensation for this role is (between Pay Range $91,000- $125,100 annually) (Only Applicable to Ontario). Base salaries are determined according to several parameters like skills, experience, and potential impact on the role. Internal and external competitiveness are also taken into account in our offers.
