In your capacity as a Contracts Manager, reporting directly to the Project Procurement Manager, you will support the effective administration and commercial management of contract packages delivered through an EPCM model. You will play a key role in ensuring that all activities executed by contractors and suppliers are managed in accordance with project objectives, contractual obligations, regulatory requirements, and the project's governance framework.
Your role
Contract Administration:
- Support the Project Procurement Manager in implementing effective processes, tools, and systems for administering engineering, procurement, and construction contracts in an EPCM environment.
- Prepare, review, and apply Contract Management Plans, procedures, workflows, and commercial governance documents.
- Lead the administration of assigned contracts, including issuing notices, reviewing contractor submissions, evaluating changes, and managing bonding, insurance, holdbacks, and contract security.
- Maintain accurate registers for changes, extensions of time, risks, deliverables, contractor status, and payment processes.
- Develop and maintain standardized contract templates and forms.
Commercial & Risk Management:
- Assess progress claims, validate performance, and ensure payments follow contractual and legal requirements.
- Monitor contractual and commercial risks, identify potential issues early, and support dispute‑avoidance strategies.
- Provide commercial oversight on high‑value or high‑risk contract packages.
- Support negotiations and review departures from standard terms to ensure risks are appropriately managed.
Coordination & Governance:
- Work closely with engineering, construction, project controls, quality, and other teams to ensure contractors and suppliers meet commercial and non‑commercial obligations.
- Ensure contract activities align with the Project Execution Plan, Contract Management Plan, EPCM procedures, and applicable regulations.
- Participate in contractor meetings (kick‑off, progress, coordination) and maintain accurate minutes and commercial records.
- Ensure all commercial correspondence is accurate, timely, and professionally issued.
Reporting, Audit & Continuous Improvement:
- Collaborate with Project Controls on cost reporting, accruals, and forecasting for assigned contract packages.
- Support internal and external audit requirements related to contract administration and commercial activities.
- Work with legal counsel on contract interpretation, claims, and dispute matters.
- Contribute to continuous improvement of procurement strategies, contract templates, processes, and tools.
About you
- 7+ years of experience in contract administration or related commercial roles on large civil, hydropower, energy, or industrial projects.
- EPCM contract administration experience is a strong asset.
- Strong commercial judgment and ability to interpret complex contract documents.
- Skilled in applying contract requirements across various contracting models.
- Effective collaborator within multidisciplinary EPCM teams.
- Solid understanding of safety standards, quality processes, and construction contract law.
- Proven capability to manage multiple contract packages in a fast‑paced environment.
- Advanced MS Office skills; JD Edwards, Aconex, or similar systems experience is an advantage.
- Clear, professional written and verbal communication skills.

Expected compensation for this role is between Pay Range $109,200 - $157,950 annually. Base salaries are determined according to several parameters like skills, experience, and potential impact on the role. Internal and external competitiveness are also taken into account in our offers.
