The electrical group comprises staff based across Birmingham, Leeds, Glasgow and Epsom. Key capabilities include high voltage (HV) plant design, protection and control (P&C), regulation and advisory.
The team works in a fully integrated manner with a wider team to deliver key projects to support the Power & Industrial Market. The sector is undergoing unprecedented growth at the moment, and a growth mindset is critical for the group lead role.
Your role
In this role you will:
- Focus on growth (recruitment, onboarding, retention) to enable the team to sustainably grow to match the market demand.
- Provide the group with a clear identity, provide inspiration and drive a positive inclusive, culture.
- Ensure a high level of communication, engagement and pastoral care throughout the team.
- Ensure that staff are technically equipped to deliver high quality work to clients (through training, development and culture).
- Drive efficient resourcing to maintain billability in line with the Practice budget.
- The candidate will also be expected to be a leader in the Power and Energy sector (in one of the technical capabilities mentioned: HV plant, P&C, regulatory and advisory) and will be expected to be billable in addition to the leadership activities.
About you
- It is anticipated that position and will be held from one of our locations (Birmingham, Leeds, Glasgow and Epsom). Some travel between these offices will be required. We welcome part-time or full-time applicants for the role.
- In addition to having strong communication and leadership skills, you will have experience in and be able to demonstrate a selection of the following attributes:
- A leader in the Power and Energy sector (ideally good knowledge of power grids / electrical engineering)
- Experience in line management and team leadership.
- Drive for growth and experience in recruitment and onboarding.
- Ability to make decisions and balance the needs of the business with the needs of the team.

Security clearance
