We currently have an opportunity for an Associate Archaeologist / Heritage Consultant to join the AtkinsRéalis Global Technology Centre in India. The role involves significant work on UK, ME and International projects being delivered by the AtkinsRéalis UK SLRM – Heritage practice across a range of market sectors like Highways, Rail, Tunnels, including the development of Cities, Mass Transit and Energy infrastructure.
Your role
- 2 - 5+ years experience in hydrogeology and/or groundwater.
- Experience in environmental assessment, especially in hydrogeological impact studies (HIA), development of ground models, monitoring data analysis, and groundwater risk analysis.
- Post Graduate Degree qualified in a relevant engineering or science subject e.g. geology, geosciences, geochemistry, water resources, environmental science, groundwater and hydrogeology.
- Experience of conducting baseline site assessment, interpreting Site Investigation reports, with experience of multiple data processing and visualization techniques.
- Good technical understanding of conceptual site models (2D and 3D).
- Well versed with data analysis / characterisation / simulation process / data management.
- Ability to interpret and analyse large and complex geology, soil and water data sets and produce well written factual and interpretative reports.
- Good communication and presentation skills. ·
- Ability to take initiative and work independently or within a team.
- Willingness to learn and adapt to the project/team/wider team.
- Located near an AtkinsRéalis India office ideally Bengaluru or Mumbai or Pune or Gurgaon, or willingness for regular travel to visit the team.
About you
- Experience of working for global regions will be preferable either in an excellence centre or in the region.
- Understanding of environmental regulations ideally in the UK.
- Knowledge in hydrogeological modelling, mapping analysis (SURFER, ArcGIS), field pumping data analysis, etc., is an advantage.
- Field work experience would be an advantage but not essential.
- Hands-on experience in water balance studies integrating different sectors of hydrogeological cycle.
- Knowledge and technical understanding of controlled water (surface water and groundwater), generic risk assessments on environment and human health, and hydrogeological studies conducted in the UK.
- UK industry standards and codes of practice for ground investigations and potentially contaminated sites i.e. CIRIA, 2001, Constructional dewatering CIRIA, C750, A guide to good practice (C552), and have broad understanding of Environmental Protection Act 1990, etc.
- Work primarily with hydrogeologists, geologists, modellers and technical specialists in UK to undertake project specific studies and impact assessments.
- Originate and check geological, soil - water management analysis and reporting deliverables prior to issuing for review.
- Originate abstraction, construction and other license permitting requirements and technical documents that may be required as part of the project.
- Originate hydrogeological factual/interpretive reports including organisation, collation, and assessment of desk-based information as part of Phase 1 Desk Studies and Phase 2 ground investigation reports.
- Data management of large data sets of soils and water data using software packages such as R, Power BI, MS-Excel, Statistics.
- Assisting in designing or able to design (then organise) environmental/geo-environmental site investigations, including soil sampling and ground gas / vapour / leachate / groundwater and surface water monitoring / sampling.
- Preparing Method Statements, Specifications and Drawings.
- Scheduling and managing work to acceptable quality, on time and to budget.
- Compliance with Health and Safety Policies and Procedures, including preparing and reviewing health and safety plans and managing health and safety on sites.
- Developing own competence with support from the business on own training and development needs.
