Overview
We are seeking an experienced Sustainability Manager to lead and manage sustainability implementation for a major transportation project in Penang. This is a full-time, site-based role responsible for compliance.
Your role
- Lead and manage all sustainability matters for the project.
- Act as the main liaison with Client, PMC, authorities, and stakeholders.
- Develop and implement the Project Sustainability Plan and Policy.
- Lead materiality assessment, sustainability KPIs, and performance monitoring.
- Oversee monthly sustainability reporting and audits.
- Drive ESG initiatives, resource efficiency, waste reduction, and CSR programmes.
- Provide sustainability training to site teams and subcontractors.
- Manage and mentor Sustainability Officer(s).
About you
- Bachelor's degree in Sustainability, Environmental Science, Engineering, or related field.
- Minimum 5 years' experience in sustainability roles (construction / infrastructure preferred).
- Good understanding of Malaysian environmental and sustainability regulations.
- Experience in sustainability reporting and site implementation.
- Strong communication skills in English (Bahasa Malaysia preferred).
- Preferred certifications / exposure: GBI, CIDB MyCREST, INFRASTAR, pH-JKR, GreenRE, GreenPASS, UN SDGs.
