The Role
Our Supply Chain Management department is seeking a detail-oriented and proactive materials planner to join our team. The ideal candidate will be responsible for monitoring material requirements to align with production/maintenance needs, and coordinate with suppliers to optimize supply chain efficiency. This role requires strong analytical skills, the ability to forecast demand, and excellent communication with internal and external stakeholder.
In this role, you will:
- Work with suppliers on past due purchase orders (stock, non-stock and free text purchase orders).
- Management of exceptions and assessing parts availability for scheduled work.
- Review free text items, identify opportunities for transfers, and ensure material availability alignment with work order scheduling.
- Participate in weekly planning meetings involving stakeholders.
- Coordinate proactively and effectively expedite delivery of materials when schedule changes cannot be accommodated. Coach end users on integration points to optimize Work Management planning.
- Frequent engagement with stakeholders in conducting material availability reviews and action recommendations.
- Address past due and follow up for all types of purchase orders.
- Work collaboratively with the Site Inventory and Stores and other colleagues to optimize and deliver sustainable materials availability and usage outcomes.
Required:
- bachelor’s degree in commerce;
- minimum of three to five years of related experience in an industrial setting;
- equivalent combination of education and work experience considered;
- experience with a computer maintenance management system such as SAP;
- strong analytical, problem-solving and decision-making skills; and
- excellent communication and negotiation abilities.
Recommended:
- APICS, SCMP designation is preferred; and
- knowledge in inventory planning processes.
