Site Representative
We are looking for a Site Representative for our Peterborough, Ontario site. BWXT NEC's Fuel Handling and Engineered Solutions group is involved in the design, manufacture, development, testing, parts supply, and service of on-power refueling, reactor maintenance, and nuclear medicine delivery tooling sold around the world. We are the original designer of the automated systems that allow 24/7 on power refueling of CANDU reactors and aim to solve some of the Nuclear Industry’s most challenging problems. Today, BWXT’s equipment is being used in most of the nuclear power plants in Canada and is critical to delivering carbon free energy production and lifesaving medical isotopes.

Role Summary:
At BWXT, work with the customers, on the customer site, developing medium to long term opportunities, aid inconstruction and/or review of proposal packages including the construction of engineering estimates and supporting pricing activities to bring the voice of the customer to our approach. Working primarily with the Engineering, Manufacturing and Senior management team, they will ensure the customer has a path of escalation and that our internal team is updated on changes in our customer that may impact our business.
Responsibilities:
Customer Relationships
- Develop and maintain relationships with key customers and stakeholders;
- Travel between various customer sites. Expected to travel approximately two (2) days perweek;
- Gather and communicate customer intelligence and use this to guide strategic decisions on current and future opportunities;
- Collaborate with functional leads to understand and develop opportunities that are aligned with their resource needs and core expertise;
- Maintain dashboards with an emphasis on communicating key information to internal stakeholders;
- Act as the key interface with external customers for project communication and crossfunctional internal teams in support of active projects;
- Represent our company at various customer and industry conferences;
- Deliver customer presentations for project and general company capabilities;
- Represent BWXT NEC at vendor events.
Commercial Support and Risk Management:
- Develop proposal strategy in support of the sales strategy on a project basis;
- Lead and develop cost estimates for engineering focused work;
- Engage in contract negotiations with customers;
- Participate in Pricing Approval Request (PAR) meetings to provide voice of the customer;
- Participate in project kickoff meetings to pass on all relevant documentation to the project team;
- Provide leadership on assigned projects to ensure successful execution through established company procedures and unit best practices;
- Provide direction and strategies to reduce costs and risks;
- Benchmark internal costs with industry to ensure competitiveness.
Business Development:
- Participate in developing business strategies to accomplish business objectives;
- Take lead, when assigned, in developing and implementing continuous improvement initiatives;
- Develop and detail strategies which provide winning solutions for BWXT and our customers;
- Develop and maintain sales forecasting information in JD Edwards with a focus on mid to long term opportunities;
- Present and report on sale opportunities status, metrics, issues, risks, and project resource needs in a team setting;
- Participate in business process improvements through goal setting, process enhancement, and technology introduction to achieve business goals;
- Maintain forecast information on the BWXT business system (JD Edwards) for the life of each ITO project.
Project Support:
- Work with Project Scheduling & Controls Specialists to ensure schedule integrity and quality of proposal schedules;
- Follow up on manufactured parts Concession Applications between internal and external stakeholders;
- Convey the voice of the customer. Deliver hard feedback in a positive way to effect change;
- Follow-up with customers to resolve past due and other commercial/contract issues;
- Assess monthly and quarterly metrics and sales forecasting reports to ensure accurate forecasting.
Qualifications:
- This is a senior position within the Customer Solutions group.
- Bachelor's degree in Business, Engineering, or equivalent from an accredited university with 5 years' minimum experience working in the Nuclear Industry.
- Project Management Education or PMP Certification is an asset.
- Professional Engineering license in Ontario (P.Eng) is an asset.
- Outgoing personality who enjoys engaging with others.
- Demonstrated ability in product or system design and project planning / execution, including development of processes / procedures and process improvements.
- Experience in one or more of the following areas: Engineering design, team leadership, product design leadership, manufacturing team leadership, commercial operations, project management and / or project planning.
- Very strong communication, negotiation and facilitation skills.
- Broad understanding of BWXT NEC's product line and history in the nuclear industry.
- Excellent written, oral and illustrative communication skills.
- Demonstrated leadership skills and the ability to work and direct in a team.
- Experience in Primavera P6 software is an asset.
- Conveys a diplomatic/professional demeanor at all times and has a strong customer-centric focus.
- Strong word processing and presentation skills. Proficiency with Microsoft Word and PowerPoint is essential.
- Basic understanding of Terms & Conditions.
- Leadership skills including planning, delegation, driving accountability and implementing change.

The base salary range for this position in Ontario at the start of employment is expected to be between $78,000.00 and $121,000.00 per year. However, the base salary offered is based on local job market factors and may vary further depending on factors specific to the selected job candidate, such as job-related knowledge, skills, experience, and other objective business considerations. Subject to these considerations, the total compensation package for this position may also include other elements, such as an annual cash incentive in addition to a full range of medical, retirement, and/or other benefits.
