In support of achieving excellence and business results through safe, reliable operations, our Bruce A, Operations Division is currently hiring a Technical Officer.
This is a term position which may be for a period of up to 60 months, offers a competitive compensation package and is located on-site in Tiverton, Ontario.

Key Responsibilities:
Lead and support the identification, evaluation, and resolution of operational issues through the Corrective Action Program (CAP) to improve station performance and reliability.
Support cross-functional field walkdowns to gather information, validate recommendations, and facilitate sound decision-making.
Conduct technical evaluations and provide recommendations to support safe, reliable, and efficient operation of Bruce A systems and programs.
Support long-term operational strategy initiatives through data analysis, performance trending, and continuous improvement activities.
Develop, revise, and maintain operational procedures, guidance documents, and program-related processes to ensure alignment with station standards and regulatory requirements.
Coordinate cross-functional initiatives and work closely with Operations, Work Management, Engineering, Maintenance, and Training to achieve operational excellence.
Specific Accountabilities:
Manage and facilitate corrective action investigations, root cause evaluations, and effectiveness reviews to support continuous improvement and operational excellence.
Analyze operating experience, performance indicators, trends, and program data to identify opportunities for improvement and recommend strategic actions.
Support the development and execution of long-term operational improvement plans that align with divisional and station objectives.
Prepare and present technical reports, business cases, recommendations, and performance summaries to Operations leadership.
Review and evaluate internal and external proposals, operating experience, and best practices to identify opportunities to enhance operational programs and processes.
Assist with program ownership activities, including monitoring program health, maintaining program documentation, and supporting audits, assessments, and inspections.
Coordinate implementation of approved initiatives, ensuring actions are completed effectively and intended outcomes are achieved.
Support departmental budgeting, forecasting, and resource planning activities as required.
Knowledge and Skills:
Strong knowledge of nuclear operations, station processes, and operational excellence principles.
Demonstrated ability to investigate problems, analyze data, identify trends, and develop practical solutions.
Experience with corrective action programs, continuous improvement methodologies, performance improvement programs, or strategic planning initiatives.
Excellent written and verbal communication skills with the ability to prepare reports, recommendations, presentations, and business cases.
Strong organizational, project management, and stakeholder engagement skills.
Ability to influence, collaborate, and work effectively across multiple departments.
Proficiency in data analysis, performance monitoring, and Microsoft Office applications.
Education and Experience:
This knowledge is considered to be normally acquired in a four (4) year University degree in a related field.
Requires a knowledge of physics, chemistry, metallurgy, mathematics, electricity, engineering and economics to technically understand the operation of the facility.
Requires advanced knowledge of one of more of these subjects to evaluate and propose improvements to processes, equipment and systems or for unit safety, reliability and performance.
Requires excellent communication skills; a knowledge of English in order to prepare clear and concise reports and recommendations both verbally and in writing.
Over 6 years, up to and including 8 years’ experience.
Requires training and experience in the design, development or operation of a nuclear facility or in the development, manufacture or production of nuclear materials or components or in an industrial environment associated with the design, development, operation or maintenance of industrial systems and equipment.
Requires experience to solve problems, to provide advice and guidance, to initiate developmental studies and to make recommendations during the design, commissioning and operation of a nuclear facility.
Requires further experience in the position to become familiar with the work and be fully competent
