Accountabilities: How You Will Make an Impact
As part of the Project Management Office (PMO), lead multi-disciplinary technical teams for preparation of technical estimates, methodologies, technical assumptions and clearly articulate our service offerings to clients. Additional accountabilities include:
- Build a proposal/bid plan to deliver a quality proposal to our clients.
- Work with Business Development Directors to gather insight for clients that will be useful to form win themes in our proposal.
- Obtain alignment and concurrence on the bid plan/strategy with the Accountable Authority.
- Analyze and understand customer’s requirements.
- Co-ordinate a proposal development team comprising of subject matter experts and work with the technical team to deliver on the plan and escalate any issues.
- Accountable for delivering the finished bid and driving the bid through all aspects of the bid process in a timely manner with high quality.
- Responsible for writing the proposal following client specific RFP requirements and schedule with inputs being provided by other members of the bid team.
- Facilitate meetings to converge on solutions, work plans, and status update meetings including risk review.
- Present solutions and costing to senior management for approvals.
- Input and update Customer Relationship Management platform (i.e. Salesforce).
- Develop costing and a project schedule with input from technical teams.
- Ensure bids are set up in the appropriate costing systems (e.g. SAP).
- Report on progress of proposals to the Accountable Authority and to the Technical Director, Proposals and Project Management Services.
- Maintain revision control and up-to-date files while coordinating and integrating input from various technical groups and staff involved in the proposal preparation.
- Coordinate post-proposal evaluations and internal debriefs to obtain insights for improving the proposal development process
- Limited domestic travel to customer offices, vendor facilities or industry conferences may be required.
- Other duties as assigned.
What You Need to Succeed
- Completion of a 4-year University degree in Engineering or Science.
- A period of 5-10 years of relevant experience is required.
- Demonstrated experience preparing quotes and proposals in a work capture position.
- Experience leading multi-disciplinary teams to deliver proposals and bottom-up cost estimates.
- Experience in liaising with contractors, vendors, and consultant resources as appropriate to form teams and arrangements in consultation with legal, tax, finance, quality and HR.
- Clear understanding of project management methodologies.
- Maintain comprehensive knowledge of Kinectrics products/services.
- Complete understanding of organizational commercial processes.
- Articulate and effective communicator with excellent, interpersonal, planning, and organizational skills.
- Experience with scheduling software – e.g. MS Project, Primavera 6 is an asset.
- Experience with Salesforce is an asset.
- Proficient in Microsoft Excel, Word, PowerPoint, and SharePoint.
- Commercial and technical acumen is required.
- Experience in the Nuclear Industry is required.
- A PMP designation is an asset.
- Knowledge of nuclear utility buying practices would be an asset.
