Cigar Lake, located in northern Saskatchewan, is the world’s highest-grade uranium mine. The uranium produced at Cigar Lake is used for nuclear fuel products, which utilities around the world rely on to generate safe, reliable, emissions-free nuclear power. Cameco is one of the largest global providers of the uranium fuel needed to energize a clean-air world.
The Role
Reporting to the jet boring system supervisor, you will be responsible for the operation of the jet boring system (JBS) at the Cigar Lake operation.
In this role, you will:
- Organize and perform daily operator care rounds on the JBS and all other related equipment. Monitor, troubleshoot and continuously improve the JBS, while ensuring safe and efficient uranium ore production.
Required:
- Minimum grade 12 diploma or equivalent.
- At least three years of industrial experience.
- Strong team player with excellent communication skills.
- Strong ability to use and navigate automated mining technology and computer software.
- Significant work experience in drilling and underground mining. Work a rotational schedule and commute to site by aircraft.
Recommended:
- Background in the operation of complex drilling machinery.
- Work experience with navigating and operating DCS systems.
- Familiarity with IOS systems.
