Under the direction of the Manager, Whiteshell Closure Project Stakeholder Relations, the First Nation and Metis Affairs Coordinator Student will play a support role in developing and implementing communication and engagement strategies focused on supporting CNL’s First Nations and Métis relationships. The student will work with the communications team to develop materials and create opportunities for First Nations and Métis communities to better understand the Whiteshell Closure Project. What will you be doing?
• Assisting in the implementation of the Companies First Nation and Métis Relations report.
• Developing formal and informal briefings for internal stakeholders.
• Assisting in the engagement process related to the Whiteshell Closure project.
• Coordinating and working with representatives of first Nations and Métis Communities, provincial, federal and government organizations and agencies relevant to projects/programs.
• Coordinating outreach meetings with First Nations and Métis communities and other related events.
• Performing other duties as required.

Education
• Currently enrolled in a Corporate Communications, Professional Communications, Public Relations, or Native Studies program, and have completed one (1) year of university study or higher.
Security clearance eligibility required: Reliability Status with Site Access Security Clearance (SASC), which has a minimum requirement of three (3) years of verifiable history in Canada, Australia, New Zealand, United States and/or the United Kingdom. CNL implements security screening in accordance with the Treasury Board of Canada Secretariat “Standard on Security Screening” and the “Policy on Government Security”.
