The Role
Working with the corporate SHEQ department, you will assist in the implementation, maintenance and continual improvement of Cameco’s safety, health, environment and quality (SHEQ) audit program.
In this role, you will:
- Conduct integrated SHEQ and compliance audits to ensure they are performed in conformance with corporate policy.
- Prepare audit reports, enter audit information in the Cameco incident reporting system (CIRS) and oversee all corrective actions related to audit findings
- Participate in audit tracking, monitoring, trending and data management, as well as the preparation of reports for senior management and the board of directors.
- Develop and communicate audit plans and schedules, as well as maintain and assist with training corporate SHEQ auditors.
Required:
- Bachelor’s degree in science, engineering or a related field
- Three to five years work experience in safety, environment, or quality field
- Equivalent combination of education and work experience considered
Recommended:
- Experience leading or conducting audits pertaining to safety, health, environment, quality
- Excellent computer and communication skills
- Experience in the nuclear industry
- Quality management system (QMS), safety and health management system (SHMS) or environmental management system (EMS) audit certification

There may be an opportunity to work remote in this position. Regardless, there will be the need for intermittent meetings in the Saskatoon office/travel to site. The details of this flex work arrangement will be discussed with you in the recruitment process. This role will require approximately 8 to 10 weeks of travel a year to Cameco’s operations.
Applicants will be considered for a level within the job progression, which is appropriate to their qualifications. Progressions will be discussed further in the interview process. Depending on work experience and qualifications, this position will be filled anywhere from a Specialist I through Senior Specialist and the final salary will be reflective of this.
