The Role
Reporting to the manager, reliability engineering, as a key member of the reliability team, you will support Cameco’s transition into a high reliability organization by performing asset maintenance strategy selection, root cause analysis, developing risk mitigation plans, minimizing asset life cycle cost, supporting the loss elimination process and performing preventive maintenance optimization, including the implementation into Bentley APM. Although this is a corporate office position, you will be required to travel to site as required.
In this role, you will:
- Work a hybrid role, with one week remote and one week (Monday-Thursday) at Cameco’s Key Lake operation
- Create and optimize asset strategies to increase equipment availability using reliability methodologies
- Lead the loss elimination program at Key Lake to identify bad actors and reduce the impact to the operation
- Perform root cause failure analysis on a range of physical equipment, plans, and processes to determine solutions to repeated or major equipment failures
- Execute the reliability portion of capital projects by reviewing project designs and equipment selection for concerns related to overall lifetime reliability
- Develop, with other reliability engineers and process owners, programs and procedures in support of Cameco’s journey to industry leading reliability
- Collaborate with on-site operators, tradespersons, superintendents, managers, and other engineers in the delivery of your work
Required:
- Bachelor’s degree in engineering (mechanical, chemical, or electrical)
- Professional Engineer designation (P. Eng)
- Minimum of seven years of progressive industrial engineering experience with several years focussed on reliability engineering
- Equivalent combination of education and work experience will be considered
- Experience with reliability engineering principles such as RCM, RCA, FMEA, FTA, RBD, CA and LCCA
- Eligible for registration with the Association of Professional Engineers and Geoscientists of Saskatchewan (APEGS) Travel to site every other week by aircraft
Recommended:
- Knowledge of SAP or Bentley AssetWise APM software
- Strong background in RCA, FMEA, RBD, FTA, MTA, RCM, PM, CA, Pd.M. or LCC
- Familiarity with AWB Reliability Modelling Software
- Skilled in Weibull/Crow-AMSAA Analysis, System Modelling or Optimization of Asset Life Cycle decisions
- Continuous improvement certification (Lean Six Sigma Green Belt)
- Effective communication, collaboration, coaching/mentoring and interpersonal skills
- Excellent time management, analytical and technical writing skills
- Proficiency with Microsoft Office
