If you answered yes, our Pinawa, Manitoba location is looking to fill the role of Quality Assurance Control (QAC) Representative.The QAC Representative provides quality assurance and control services for the Whiteshell (WL) site clients and reports to the QA/QC Section Head. The QAC Representative is responsible for performing their work in an efficient, safe and timely manner and ensuring that specified quality requirements are met.
What will you be doing?
- Performing certified non-destructive testing services (if Canadian General Standards Board Liquid Penetrant Inspection (CGSB LPI) certified).
- Performing visual weld inspections, dimensional inspection, and HEPA filter testing.
- Receiving inspection on incoming material to purchase order requirements.
- Calibrating of measuring and test equipment.
- Witnessing of hydrostatic and pneumatic pressure tests.
- Performing Quality Assurance (QA) purchase order reviews.
- Preparing and functional control of Inspection Test Pans (Piping Inspection and Test Plan & Manufacturing Inspection and Test Plan) (PTP’s & MITP’s)).
- Providing QA support to the Work Planning & Maintenance branch including Self Assessments, Effectiveness Reviews, Surveillances, and audit support.
- Creating, modifying, or upgrading QA documentation for the Work Planning & Maintenance branch.
- Assisting management in implementation of QA programs based on the documentation.
- Ensuring projects are in compliance with all applicable QA programs and taking on special assignments when required, working with both Atomic Energy of Canada , Canadian Nuclear Safety Commission, Canadian Nuclear Laboratories (AECL/CNSC/CNL) staff and external contractors.
- Participating and maintaining up to date safety and operational training offered through the company.
- Other duties as assigned by your manager.
What we are looking for:
- Education
- Must be a graduate from a recognized institute of advanced technology or certified journeyman (electrical, HVAC, millwright) in a related field or have equivalent formal education with pertinent experience in QAC, receiving inspection of material/products and/or HEPA filter testing.
- Certified to Non-Destructive Testing, Natural Resources Canada / Canadian General Standards Board (NRCAN/CGSB) 48.9712-2000, an asset.
- Experience
- Must have good working knowledge of American Society for Testing and Materials (ASTM), American Society of Mechanical Engineers (ASME) and Manufactures Standardization Society (MSS) codes, standards and specification.

Security Clearance Eligibility Required
Level 2 Secret requires a minimum of 7 years of verifiable history in Canada, Australia, New Zealand, the United States, and/or the United Kingdom. CNL implements security screening in accordance with the Treasury Board of Canada Secretariat's “Standard on Security Screening” and the “Policy on Government Security.”
Working Conditions:
- Possess normal physical agility necessary to perform all aspects of the work that involves bending, lifting and mobility.
- Capable of wearing and working in protective clothing and using equipment as required.
- Good physical and mental health to perform the duties of the position.
- Work environment is a combination of office and in-field.
- Ability to work outdoors in a variety of temperatures ranging from e.g. +30 to -40 C.
- Must be able to work in various Confined Space areas.
- Must be able to work from various heights.
