With the above vision in mind, AtkinsRéalis is looking for a career-oriented Environmental Drafting Technician/ Technologist to join our team.
This role is open for all our Canadian Offices.
Your role within the team:
- Your role and responsibilities will include but not limited to the preparation of construction of construction plans for site development which may include creating site geometry, grading, drainage, paving, utilities, plan coordination, sections, details, creating and editing surfaces, alignments, profiles and corridors, using AutoCAD Civil3D.
- Your responsibilities may also include reading and interpreting survey data, legal descriptions, government standards and codes, applicable to the design, performing calculations such as cut/fill and volumetric calculations as well as developing designs to be reviewed by a senior technical professional for conformance with specifications and client requirements.
- Using AutoCAD Civil3D to design, redesign, modify or otherwise edit existing designs/drawings.
- Performing quality reviews of final design on screen to verify completeness, clarity and accuracy of drawing follow company drawing standards and templates.
- Preparing graphic presentations to support feasibility studies and proposals, as required.
- Provide technical data for specifications; provides quantities and cost estimates, as required.
- Maintaining working knowledge of governmental regulations, codes and ordinances and their application.
- Performing such other duties as the Supervisor may from time to time deem necessary.

The ideal candidate:
- Post-secondary education in a related field (Certificate, Diploma, Degree, etc.).
- At least 3 years of progressive related AutoCAD Civil3D, 2018 or higher, experience, including volumetric calculations, slope stability design knowledge.
- Experience working with LiDAR and/or point cloud data with software like Recap and/or ArcGIS Pro.
- Experience with land development construction plan preparation.
- Self-starter with strong communication and time management skills, ability to work independently or within a team environment, the competence to take initiative and go beyond what the job situation requires.
- Proficient with Microsoft Office with proven skills in utilizing Excel, and Access to support data from databases (e.g. Water Well record data).
- Knowledge of related software such as gINT, Surfer, MicroStation, Pathfinder Officer, Revit or BIM related software is considered an asset.
- Bilingual (English/French) considered an asset.
- Computer Skills:
- AutoCAD 2018 or higher.
- AutoCAD Civil 3D.
- Additional Computer Skills Considered an Asset:
- Autodesk Recap.
- MicroStation.
- Surfer.
- Pathfinder Office.
- ArcGIS 10.6 and/or ArcGIS Pro.
- gINT software or knowledge of borehole logs.
- Revit or BIM related software.
- ArcGIS plugin for AutoCAD.
