What you will be doing:
- Participate in a groundwater modelling project to simulate groundwater flow and contaminant transport behaviours in local scale 3D numerical models.
- Assist in processing environmental monitoring and geological and hydrogeological site characterization data, data QC/QA, data processing, and visualization in a GIS environment.
- Work with the groundwater modeller to prepare model input files, assist in 3D model construction, calibration, simulation, verification, and prediction.
- Transfer data into Environmental Data Management System (EDMS).
- Develop strong interpersonal and communication skills and provide support for other team members as needed.
What we are looking for:
- Education
- Hydrogeology, Geology, Environmental Sciences, or Civil Engineering field
- Knowledge, Skills & Abilities
- Have a good understanding of general environmental sciences with a preference for knowledge of groundwater monitoring and geohydrology.
- Be proficient in the use of various GIS and database systems, including ArcGIS, Surfer, Excel, and Access.
- Have excellent communication skills, both written and oral
- Be comfortable working in a team environment.
- Be able to work independently with minimal supervision and be highly motivated to learn new skills.
- Security Clearance Eligibility Required
- Reliability Status with Site Access Security Clearance (SASC), which has a minimum requirement of 3-5 years of verifiable history in Canada, Australia, New Zealand, the United States and/or the United Kingdom. CNL implements security screening in accordance with the Treasury Board of Canada Secretariat's “Standard on Security Screening” and the “Policy on Government Security.”
