We are currently seeking a Maintenance Supervisor who will be responsible for maintaining adequate building infrastructure and asset management to support operations at the BWXT Nuclear Energy Canada Inc. Peterborough, Ontario location.
Millwrights and Electrical Technicians report into this role.
RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Primary contact with local landlord representatives for site maintenance initiatives/projects.
- Identify investment needs required to sustain adequate levels of building infrastructure.
- Execute on facilities projects/initiatives.
- Manage the maintenance and repair of BWXT’s internal building and equipment including HVAC systems, electrical systems, plumbing, and other mechanical systems.
- Develop and implement preventative maintenance programs to minimize downtime and ensure maximum efficiency of facilities and equipment.
- Compliance and ownership of the site contractor management program.
- Develop and manage the facilities budget and ensure that all expenses are tracked and accounted for.
- Ensure that all facilities are in compliance with relevant regulations and codes, including health and safety regulations.
- Ensure compliance with site policies as they relate to construction activities, as defined by the landlord and BWXT.
- Support of major facilities projects at other BWXT NEC sites, as needed.
- Support of on-going production operations in a manufacturing environment.
- Support business leaders with feasibility studies and/or major facility re-arrangement initiatives to suit evolving business needs.
QUALIFICATIONS:
- 5 years of experience in facilities management, including experience supervising employees and overseeing third-party contractors.
- 3 - 5 years hands-on maintenance experience in a manufacturing maintenance organization as an electrician, technician, millwright, conventional machine mechanic, or mechanic.
- Post-secondary training in a relevant technical field or construction trade.
- Strong project management skills, with experience managing construction and renovation projects.
- General knowledge of HVAC systems, general construction, electrical systems, bulk gases and large air compressors.
- Excellent organizational and project management skills, with the ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously.
- Experience with building and property management.
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to build and maintain relationships with internal and external stakeholders.
- Experience with providing oversight to construction trades.
- Knowledge of provincial/federal requirements for major construction projects, as well as relevant regulations and codes related to facilities management.
- Comfortable with common MS Office software applications such as Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook.
- Willing and able to travel to our other locations (Toronto and Arnprior) to provide support on an infrequent basis.
DESIRED QUALIFICATIONS:
- Experience in a manufacturing environment.
- Familiarity with building codes/standards, fire safety systems.
- Experience with AutoCAD (or similar design software).
- Ability to train, develop and hire potential employees.
- General knowledge of robotics and PLC’s.

The base salary range for this position in Ontario at the start of employment is expected to be between $86,000 and $132,000 per year. However, the base salary offered is based on local job market factors and may vary further depending on factors specific to the selected job candidate, such as job-related knowledge, skills, experience, and other objective business considerations. Subject to these considerations, the total compensation package for this position may also include other elements, such as an annual cash incentive in addition to a full range of medical, retirement, and/or other benefits.
