About your next challenge as Manager, Program Management:
The Manager, Program Management will be responsible for leading and managing a group of experienced project managers and oversee program management aspects of all related Power Simulation projects. Will be responsible for providing guidance, coaching and training to direct reports within job area and manage PM teams in the development of execution plans, schedule & resource requirements, work breakdowns, team tasking and tracking. Will gauge progress and identify performance variances to facilitate focus and intervention on critical areas. Communicates within and outside of the organization to explain and influence changes. Will also be responsible for assigned projects and processes within job area.
What You Will Do:
- Ensures major projects and programs are managed across company functional groups including finance, engineering, material, manufacturing, and quality;
- Lead and manage a group of experienced project managers;
- Lead strategic projects; and provide support with bids and proposals;
- Provide guidance and make decisions on project issues raised by project managers;
- Liaise with technical departments to ensure the technical integrity of the projects;
- Review project terms and conditions, scope of work and schedule;
- Evaluate project risk and develop mitigation plans, as required;
- Review all Power Control project expenditures, cash collections and EAC forecasts; and review performance against milestone and budget;
- Lead or participate in program status reviews;
- Keep senior management fully informed on progress;
- Ensures compliance with internal program procedures and project control guidelines;
- Interfacing and managing relationships with Domestic and International customers;
- Management of suppliers/subcontractors and manufacturers of products for the projects to ensure technical, schedule and budget compliance;
- Ability to travel 10% of the time.
Required Skills and Experiences:
- Bachelor’s degree in engineering, commerce or management;
- Minimum 5 years of project management experience;
- Strong project management experience, knowledge and expertise with Simulation for industrial applications will be an asset;
- Proficient in the use of Microsoft Project or equivalent, and Microsoft Office;
- PMP certification is desirable.
Eligibility Criteria:
- Must be eligible for registration with the Controlled Goods Program;
- Must be eligible to obtain and maintain a government of Canada Reliability status and Secret Level 2/NATO Secret security clearance.
