We are looking for a Business Relationship Specialist to act as a strategic business partner working the various business units and shares ownership for both business strategy and business value results. What you will be doing!
- Working with customers to identify opportunities to utilize new technology, explore options for automation, and consult on business investment proposals involving IM&T input to support them in achieving desired goals.
- Working as the strategic interface with assigned areas of CNL for the purpose of business-IM&T strategy development, solution discovery, service management, risk management and relationship management.
- Providing highly-valued, strategic consulting level support and guidance throughout key IM&T initiatives
- Assisting in the communication of decisions, priorities and relevant information to IM&T and IS business stakeholders.
- Coaching business leaders and enable them to articulate their function's (i.e. technology, people, etc.) needs and requirements that will advance business performance.
- Partnering with enterprise architecture to develop and maintain multi-year business capability roadmaps.
- Partnering with business transformation teams (change management) to ensure effective business transformation for all initiatives.
- Partnering with the project/program/portfolio management organization (PMO) to ensure a healthy and well-managed initiative portfolio.
- Partnering with business leadership to plan new joint initiatives, evaluate proposals, and determine how they fit into business capability roadmaps and priorities.
- Thinking strategically by identifying business function opportunities and the best-suited position for the function's adoption within the business partner organization. Measure adoption and work with business leadership to develop future roadmap and opportunities.
- Identifying and integrate business partners' long-range plans into business capability roadmaps and priorities, as appropriate.
- Briefing stakeholders on business partner plans.
- Focusing on business value rather than solutions to develop ideas, including digital awareness, risk assessments, business continuity, and business capability requirements.
- Building and manage the relationship team to ensure convergence and strategic partnering with the business partner team, including working closely with leadership as executive sponsors for each business partner.
- Advocating for an awareness and focus on business partner strategic plans.
- Correlating business value and priorities to planning activities and goal-setting.
- Ensuring that project/program managers of business partner projects are knowledgeable about the business partner and their objectives; engage as a project/program stakeholder, including evaluating project efforts and progress against joint strategic plans and objectives.
- Being creative and innovative with regards to your knowledge and awareness of industry trends and digital advances as they relate to new opportunities and business needs.
- Evaluating joint initiatives as they relate to corporate strategy to ensure convergence and opportunities for measurable success.
- Acting as the strategic interface between the BRS's function and business partner to stimulate, surface, and shape business demand and ensure that the potential business value from those assets and capabilities is captured, realized, optimized, and recognized.
- Establishing and earn value-adding, strategic partner relationship maturity for yourself in the role of a BRS and for the entire function.
- Developing a deep knowledge of the business partner’s business unit and build positive relationship development, both horizontally and vertically.
- Ensuring business value realization and optimization, from value plans through consultancy, business case development, and financial awareness, managing expectations, and identifying opportunities to add value.
- Ensuring project and initiative progress, including consistent and effective communication. This includes managing escalation and avoiding risk.
- Educating business partners about processes, roles, and capabilities.
- Establishing communication processes and channels across business functions.
- Measuring and communicate business value realized with the business partner on a periodic basis.
- Conducting positive negotiations with business lines around services provided by IS/IM&T
- Having the ability to compromise, handle conflict, seeking common ground, articulate customer goals and staying focused on positive outcomes
- Being responsible for ensuring oversight of metrics, goals, SLA’s and objectives that indicate risk to their clients business needs related to services provided by IS and IM&T
- Adapting to change, is open to new ideas, takes on new responsibilities, handles pressure, and adjusts plans to meet changing need
- Representing Integrated Services to company’s internal customers by promoting IM&T's vision, value, services, and capabilities
- Recognizing problems and responds, systematically gathers information, sorts through complex issues, seeks input from others, addresses root cause of issues, makes timely decisions, can make difficult decisions, uses consensus when possible, and communicates decisions to others
What we are looking for:
Education
- University degree in a related field (mandatory)
- MBA or related qualification Graduate degree or progressive educational certificate preferred
- Business Relationship Management Professional (BRMP®) preferred
- Certified Business Analysis Professional (CBAP®) preferred
Experience
- Eight (8) plus years related experience; with five (5) plus years of experience facilitating the development and implementation of business initiatives and projects, based on management objectives

- Ability to focus on business value results, rather than solutions and must have and maintain credibility with the business community while demonstrating acumen in business and function disciplines.
- Understand and integrate business strategies and trends in technology to deliver value.

- Strong communication skills in writing, speaking, and presenting.

Security Clearance Eligibility Required
- Reliability Status with Site Access Security Clearance (SASC), which has a minimum requirement of 3 years of verifiable history in Canada, Australia, New Zealand, the United States and/or the United Kingdom.
