Our Chalk River location is looking for a Business Planner to support our Science and Technology Business Management Office. What will you be doing!
- Leading annual operational planning activities for developing operational plans/planning documents for the LDST Program, in collaboration with the S&T Heads of Directorates; and monitoring and reporting on organizational compliance and progress.
- Including documenting, forecasting, analyzing, investigating, and interpreting a high volume of information from across the S&T Mission, as well as compiling, reviewing, and delivering diverse, complex reports and documents.
- Responding to diverse customer/stakeholder inquiries from internal and external stakeholders and collaborating to resolve issues/develop solutions.
- Independently reviewing actions assigned to the S&T Mission, soliciting data from the appropriate personnel within S&T or other CNL Missions, and preparing, reviewing, and delivering the necessary response.
- Acting as the S&T Corporate Planning Single-Point of Contact (SPOC) as the S&T LDST Lead: being responsible for data/report content collection, coordination, and compilation, reviewing and delivering of monthly status reports for the entire LDST Program to the VP of S&T and AECL.
- Maintaining the ongoing status of all the projects within the LDST Program, including deliverables, changes, and milestones; coordinating, preparing, and reviewing all close-out documentation for all LDST commitments.
- Being the point of contact for inquiries and/or issue resolution related to the LDST Program, which requires maintaining and managing strong working relationships with multiple-level contacts across CNL.
- This Including communicating information, advising and proposing solutions, anticipating needs, and responding and collaborating to resolve issues and develop solutions, thus ensuring the efficient and effective operation of the organization.
- Tracking and reporting on the monthly financial status for the LDST Program, which includes conducting an overall monthly analysis of the financials for S&T Senior/Executive Leadership Team and facilitating the completion and approval of monthly financial reports.
- Maintaining confidentiality of sensitive information.
- Other duties as assigned by your manager.
What we are looking for:
- Education
- A university degree or diploma from a recognized educational institute and four (4) to six (6) years of experience or equivalent combination of formal training are required.
- Experience
- Minimum of 5 years of related and progressive experience is required.
- Knowledge, Skills & Abilities
- Excellent leadership capabilities. Comfortable engaging with people and cross-functional teams to accomplish objectives, form new relationships, optimize resources, and solve challenging problems.
- Outstanding organizational skills and oral and written communication capabilities.
- Ability to define and manage improvement projects and special initiatives with limited guidance. Adept at synthesizing complex information and distilling such information into clear and concise messages for written reports or oral presentations.
- Strong presentation skills.
- Strong computer skills - advanced level capability in MS Office Suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, SharePoint) and MS Access and working knowledge of Primavera, MS Visio, and ImpAct.
- Ability to learn/use CNL’s document management system and other applications.
- Highly self-motivated and team player.
- Comfortable performing duties based on broad general direction, minimal oversight, and willing to work cooperatively with others.
- Knowledge of strategic and operational planning processes, balanced scorecards and performance management.
- Security Clearance Eligibility Required
- Reliability Status which has a minimum requirement of 3-5 years of verifiable history in Canada, Australia, New Zealand, the United States and/or the United Kingdom. CNL implements security screening in accordance with the Treasury Board of Canada Secretariat's “Standard on Security Screening” and the “Policy on Government Security.”
