About
I am a passionate and dedicated engineering student getting a BSc in Sustainable Design Engineering focusing on Mechatronics at the University of Prince Edward Island. I am eager to contribute to Canada's nuclear industry.
I have developed proficiency in industry-relevant tools and programming languages throughout my studies, including SOLIDWORKS (Certified SOLIDWORKS Associate), Modern C++ (C++14 and C++17), MATLAB, and full-stack web development technologies. These skills have been used to solve real problems through hands-on experience in various team-based engineering projects.
I collaborated with the City of Charlottetown on a Net-Zero Park Design project, where I analyzed energy consumption data and proposed sustainable energy generation and storage solutions. This project taught me about environmental engineering, cost analysis, and the practical application of renewable energy technologies.
My work with the PEI Potters Studio has also involved developing devices for automating their clay reclaiming process. I contributed to designing automated mixing and moisture control systems, which improved efficiency and reduced manual labour. This experience helped me improve problem-solving and design skills that are transferable to the nuclear sector.
Another significant project was the design of a T-Post Puller for Parks Canada. My team and I developed a foot-operated lever device to reduce physical strain on employees and earned the Best Design Award at our project expo.
Beyond academic projects, my role as a team member at Tim Hortons has strengthened my communication, teamwork, and time management skills in a dynamic, fast-paced environment. These soft skills complement my technical expertise and prepare me to work effectively within multidisciplinary teams.
I am highly motivated to apply my knowledge and skills to the nuclear industry, contributing to energy innovations prioritizing safety, efficiency, and sustainability. I look forward to further developing my skills and making meaningful contributions to Canada's future of clean energy.
