About the Role
Your key responsibilities will include:
Employee Relations & Engagement
- Conduct investigations into complaints, facilitate conflict management, and assist with dispute resolution and employee relations matters. Ability to recognize and identify complex issues to HRM and HRD. Recommend outcomes and resolutions to the HR Manager.
- Advise on policies, career development, and leave/disability management.
- Facilitate exit interviews and recommend retention strategies.
- Support HR Manager with labour relations issues for client groups, including analysis of collective agreements and supporting management.
Organizational Design & Workforce Planning
- Collaborate with managers to evaluate team structures, roles, and reporting relationships to ensure efficiency and alignment with business objectives.
- Conduct span-of-control analysis and recommend changes to optimize workflows and organizational clarity.
- Review and update job descriptions to reflect evolving business priorities and ensure alignment across roles.
- Partner with hiring managers to assess role requirements and provide guidance on recruitment and workforce planning strategies. Collaborate with managers to evaluate team structures, roles, and reporting relationships to ensure efficiency and alignment with business objectives.
HR Project, Metrics & Reporting
- Takes initiative to identify opportunities for process improvement and recommend innovative solutions. Navigate organizational complexity to identify opportunities for the HR organization in Canada.
- Supports the interpretation of collective agreements, support grievance processes, and ensure compliance with legislation.
- Deliver compliance and policy training for employees and managers.
- Generate, analyze and interpret HR metrics (turnover rates, exit interview data, engagement) to assist with data storytelling and strategic decision making.
- Facilitate and assist with software implementation projects for the Canadian HR team, including HRIS enhancements and upgrades, ensuring alignment with business needs and process improvements.
- Champion process improvements and self-service tools to drive efficiency.
What We’re Looking For
- Education: Bachelor’s degree in HR, Business Administration, or a related field. CHRP/CHRL designation strongly preferred.
- Experience:
- 5-7 years of progressive HR generalist experience (manufacturing/industrial experience preferred).
- Expertise in employee relations, organizational design, and compliance with Ontario employment laws.
- Proven ability to manage HR projects, drive process improvements, and support leadership teams.
- Familiarity with collective agreements and labour relations is a strong asset.
- Technical Skills:
- Proficiency in HRIS systems, Microsoft Office Suite, and HR analytics.
- Strong knowledge of ESA, OHSA, AODA, and Human Rights Code.
- Soft Skills:
- Natural leadership, initiative, and decision-making confidence.
- Strong communication, organizational, problem solving and critical-thinking abilities.
- A proactive mindset with the ability to identify opportunities for process improvements and innovative HR solutions and manage them from concept to implementation

The base salary range for this position in [[Ontario]] at the start of employment is expected to be between $[[74,000]] and $[[116,000]] per year. However, the base salary offered is based on local job market factors and may vary further depending on factors specific to the selected job candidate, such as job-related knowledge, skills, experience, and other objective business considerations. Subject to these considerations, the total compensation package for this position may also include other elements, such as an annual cash incentive in addition to a full range of medical, retirement, and/or other benefits.
