Engineering Process Improvement Lead

The Engineering Process Improvement Lead will be responsible for identifying, analyzing, and implementing process improvements across various Engineering departments to enhance efficiency, reduce costs, and improve overall quality. This role requires a strategic thinker with strong analytical skills and the ability to lead cross-functional teams.
This position is a one-year contract with the possibility of extension.
Location – Mississauga, ON
Your role within the team:
- Performs current state process mapping.
- Assess current state processes for adherence to policies and procedures.
- Able to establish recommendations for changes to procedure documentation.
- Create and maintain gap analysis detail reporting.
- Designs future state processes including process improvement, redesign and transformation.
- Identify and analyze existing processes to pinpoint areas for improvement.
- Develop and implement process improvement strategies and initiatives.
- Lead cross-functional teams to execute process improvement projects (up to 20 staff).
- Monitor and measure the effectiveness of implemented changes.
- Provide training and support to staff on new processes and best practices.
- Collaborate with stakeholders to ensure alignment and support for process changes.
- Prepare and present reports on process improvement activities and outcomes.
- Stay updated on industry trends and best practices in process improvement.

The ideal candidate:
- Bachelor’s degree in Engineering, or a related field.
- Minimum of 8 years of experience in engineering design or a similar role.
- Minimum of 3 years of experience in process improvement, business process modeling, or a similar role.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
- Proven ability to lead cross-functional teams.
- Experience with process improvement methodologies such as Lean, Six Sigma, or Kaizen.
- Proficiency in process mapping and analysis tools.
- Strong project management skills.
- Eligible for Security Clearance through Public Works and Government Services Canada (PWGSC) – condition of employment.
- Certification in Lean, Six Sigma, or other process improvement methodologies.
- Licensed Professional Engineer (member in good standing).
- Experience in the Nuclear industry.
- Advanced degree in a related field.
