Location – Pickering, ON
These positions are for student co-ops. Functionally reporting to the engineering division, the students will be assigned to support various engineering projects as well as support engineering functional and project management on as needed basis. The role will provide the students with learning opportunity on technical, engineering interfaces and management aspects in the nuclear industry through training, mentoring and on-the-job experiences.
Your role within the team:
- Provide support to Engineers, Discipline Leads and Engineering Managers in day-to-day engineering activities and coordination.
- Assist in development and assembly of engineering/physics/math deliverables for both nuclear and conventional systems.
- Assist in delivering work in accordance with AtkinsRéalis Inc. / Candu Energy Quality Assurance Programs and project requirements.
- Interface with multi-disciplines and other project sectors (e.g., Document Control, Project Management, field team etc.) for coordination on task scopes assigned.
- Collaborate with members of the nuclear team to facilitate the general workflow (e.g., coordinate document reviews and Request for Information (RFI) correspondence).
- Attend technical and project coordination meetings.
- Must be “Team” oriented with a demonstrated ability to work well with other and promote a positive work environment.

The ideal candidate:
- Currently enrolled in Engineering/physics/math Program with an accredited Canadian University.
- Sound knowledge in engineering/ physics/math fundamentals.
- Ability to apply learned principles in developing practical solutions.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office-related software applications, i.e., Microsoft Word, Excel, PowerPoint.
- Knowledge/prior working experiences in nuclear industry is an asset.
- Basic knowledge of analytical and design tools (e.g., MATLAB, ETAP and/or MathCAD) is an asset.
- Strong planning and organizational skills, with strong multi-tasking coordination skills.
- Strong inter-personal skills.
- Adaptability to change and thrives in a dynamic, team-oriented environment.
- Fluency in communication (written and verbal) and presentation skills.
- Travel to domestic client sites may be required.
- Ability to obtain Security Clearance is mandatory.
