As an Operations Manager with the Point Lepreau Nuclear Generating Station, you’ll be a key member of the Operations Team, responsible for managing the day-to-day operations of the station.
Key functions include:
• Evaluating Operations Department performance and implementing corrective actions as needed to correct declines in performance.
• Ensuring the implementation of maintenance strategies that support nuclear safety and maintain high plant reliability.
• Monitoring Operations Department succession planning and personnel resourcing to ensure adequate staffing is maintained in all positions.
• Developing and maintaining the Operations Department budget.
Our ideal teammate will have:
• Bachelor’s degree in Engineering
• Eight years of experience in a nuclear generating station including one of the following:
o Five years of experience as a Shift Manager
o Three years of experience as an Assistant Operations Manager or other Management role within a nuclear environment
In addition to:
• Demonstrated ability to develop and maintain strategic partnerships and collaborative working relationships with internal and external partners
• Experience with program planning, budget oversight and human resource management
• Demonstrated leadership abilities, conflict resolution and negotiation skills
• Exceptional oral and written communication skills
• Strategic thinking, problem solving and decision-making abilities
An equivalent combination of education, training and experience may be considered.
Due to security requirements at Canadian Nuclear facilities, the successful candidate will require a Site Access Security Clearance which includes verification of background information, references, a Criminal Record Name Check and a Canadian Security Intelligence Service security recommendation.
An Eligibility List generated from this competition may be used to fill future vacancies at the same level within a period of up to 12 months.
