As an Assistant Operations Manager with the Operations Management team at Point Lepreau Nuclear Generating Station, you will be responsible for managing the day-to-day operations of the station.
Key functions include:
The Assistant Operations Manager is accountable for the performance of the Operations Team, including:
• Ensuring compliance with all Operating Procedures, regulatory obligations, and the Plant Operating License
• Ensuring the Operations Team is effectively staffed with trained and competent personnel
• Decision-making authority and ownership of key Operations related processes and procedures
Our ideal teammate will have:
• Bachelor’s degree in Engineering
• Five years of experience in a nuclear power station including two years of experience as a Shift Manager
In addition to:
• Demonstrated problem solving and decision-making skills
• Demonstrated interpersonal and communication skills
• Effective decision-making ability, judgment, tact, and diplomacy skills
• Intermediate to advanced skills in standard office software tools, databases and web browser
An equivalent combination of education, training and experience may be considered.
Due to security requirements at Canadian Nuclear facilities, the successful candidate will require a Site Access Security Clearance which includes verification of background information, references, a Criminal Record Name Check and a Canadian Security Intelligence Service security recommendation.
An Eligibility List generated from this competition may be used to fill future vacancies at the same level within a period of up to 12 months.
