Role:
The Logistics Manager is responsible for managing and coordinating logistics activities, including Receiving, Shipping, Import/Export, Incoming Inspection, and Warehousing. Ensures smooth operations, process compliance, and resource optimization. Collaborates with the quality, procurement, and production departments to ensure high efficiency and customer satisfaction.
Main Responsibilities:
- Supervise and coach teams to ensure efficient workflow, meeting priorities and deadlines.
- Actively participate in the continuous improvement of logistics processes.
- Train and develop the skills of team members, supporting their professional development and ensuring they comply with safety and quality standards.
- Monitor team performance using key performance indicators (KPIs) and implement corrective actions in the event of deviation from objectives.
- Ensure compliance with internal procedures, safety regulations, and best practices for inventory management.
- Resolve daily operational problems, finding appropriate solutions to unforeseen situations (delays, receiving/shipping errors, etc.).
Resource Planning:
- Develop resource plans to meet departmental needs, including human resources, equipment, and materials.
- Analyze trends and forecasts to anticipate future needs and adjust resource plans accordingly.
- Collaborate with other departments to coordinate resources and ensure efficient utilization.
Department Management:
- Lead and manage the logistics team to achieve performance objectives and targets.
- Develop and implement strategies to improve productivity, reduce costs, and increase customer satisfaction.
- Ensure team members are trained and equipped to perform their tasks effectively and provide regular feedback for their development.
Managing Receiving and Shipping Activities:
- Supervise and coordinate all receiving and shipping activities to ensure a smooth and efficient workflow, while meeting production deadlines and priorities.
- Manage emergencies related to receiving and shipping, quickly resolving issues of non-conformities, delays, or documentation errors.
- Monitor and ensure compliance with safety and handling standards, by training and educating teams on best practices.
Incoming Component Inspection:
- Plan, organize, and supervise component inspection activities upon receipt to ensure compliance with technical specifications, engineering plans, and quality requirements.
- Supervise and train team members assigned to inspection, ensuring compliance with quality standards.
- Collaborate with the quality, engineering, and procurement departments to address non-conformities and quickly resolve receiving issues.
Import and Export Management:
- Plan and oversee all import and export operations, ensuring compliance with regulatory, customs, and contractual requirements.
- Manage relationships with land, sea, and air carriers, ensuring a level of service that meets company and customer expectations.
- Ensure compliance with export controls and specific shipping restrictions by destination.
Warehousing Operations Management:
- Ensure the efficient organization of warehouse spaces (including external warehouses) to maximize capacity and facilitate access to materials.
- Coordinate kitting activities according to production needs, ensuring the accuracy of components and prepared quantities.
- Manage and optimize stocking processes to ensure real-time inventory accuracy in the ERP/WMS system.
Preferred Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree in supply chain management, Logistics, or a related field.
- 5 to 7 years of experience in a logistics management role.
- Working knowledge of import/export processes, warehousing, kitting, and quality inspection.
- Proficiency with precision measurement tools, quality standards, and ERP/WMS systems.
- Thorough knowledge of logistics management principles, including planning, organizing, and controlling operations.
- Proven leadership skills, ability to manage priorities, solve problems, and communicate effectively.
- Rigor, autonomy, organizational skills, and results oriented.
