The Mainline Trackwork Superintendent will lead the installation of track infrastructure and associated civil works on the Surrey-Langley SkyTrain project, while supporting LIM rail, power rail, and special trackwork activities. This role spans all project phases—from planning and execution to final commissioning—and involves managing both self-perform union crews and subcontractors.
The Superintendent is responsible for ensuring safety, quality, schedule, and budgetary compliance across all trackwork activities. Candidates must have prior experience with trackwork installation on SkyTrain projects and demonstrate strong leadership in both subcontractor coordination and direct field operations.
Your role
- Develop and employ work methods for all construction activities related to direct-fixation track installation including concrete placement, drilling, coring, grouting, destressing, fastener and rail installation, destressing, bonded joint and buffer stop installation.
- Supervise and manage all field personnel, including self-perform construction crews and subcontractors to achieve completion of projects on schedule, within budget, with quality workmanship that conforms to plans and specifications.
- Review and understand project drawings and identify potential changes required.
- Promote and enforce AtkinsRéalis’ safety and environmental policies and procedures.
- Communicate and coordinate all related activities with subcontractors, stakeholders, engineers, survey, and other trades.
- Prepare 3-week schedule and integrate with the overall project schedule with the project team.
- Plan, order, and maintain all required tools and equipment needed for construction execution.
About you
- 10 years in a supervisory role on rail transit projects.
- Experience with mainline trackwork installation on previous SkyTrain projects.
- Familiarity with Track Safety Rules.
- Demonstrate knowledge in standard direct-fixation trackwork construction methodologies, and related civil works.
- Effectiveness in Microsoft Office and other applications used on the project.
- Excellent written and verbal communication, interpersonal, technical skills and the ability to support the development of teams.
- A valid driver's license.

Additional information
Expected compensation for this role is between $121,800 - $167,400 annually. Base salaries are determined according to several parameters like skills, experience, and potential impact on the role. Internal and external competitiveness are also taken into account in our offers.
