Currently, our Equipment Performance Division has a First Line Manager, Maintenance opportunity. This position will manage safe, reliable and efficient maintenance based on current needs but may provide support to other areas across the business as required.
On a shift or day basis, this role leads a team of maintenance personnel, contract staff and/or project/material management with oversight to coach and mentor work habits of personnel. You are responsible for the safe, effective execution of the work in accordance with approved procedures by acting as coach, facilitator, and supervisor, creating and sustaining a cooperative and supportive team environment. Core work includes developing recommendations for improvement in Maintenance plans and procedures, tools and techniques. While observing the maintenance function to ensure adherence to safety practices and work methods, provide effective support to the Manager in the planning, organization, administration, scheduling and execution of short and long term maintenance programs/unit outages. You will provide support and assistance to the Manager by making recommendations and developing Maintenance training, strategies, processes, and plans.
This is a permanent, full-time position which offers a competitive benefits, compensation and pension package and is located on site in Tiverton, Ontario.

What will you be responsible for?
- Provide hands-on leadership to a team of maintenance personnel and/or contract staff, ensuring safe and effective execution of work aligned with approved procedures.
- Foster a collaborative and high-performing team culture through coaching, mentoring, and clear communication of expectations.
- Identify and implement improvements in maintenance plans, procedures, tools, and techniques to enhance operational reliability and efficiency.
- Monitor work execution to ensure strict adherence to safety protocols and technical standards.
- Support the Manager in coordinating and executing short- and long-term maintenance programs, including unit outages and emergent work.
- Contribute to the development and refinement of maintenance training, strategies, and processes to build team capability and resilience.
- Maintain a strong focus on team output and accountability, ensuring work is completed to high standards and timelines.

Knowledge and Skills:
- Solid understanding of maintenance standards and practices, particularly within a nuclear or industrial setting.
- Demonstrated expertise in mechanical, control, or civil systems, with the ability to interpret equipment manuals and specifications.
- Proven ability to troubleshoot complex technical issues and make sound, timely decisions under pressure.
- Experience in outage environments and dynamic work settings, with a focus on safety, precision, and reliability.
- Strong leadership and observational skills, with the ability to guide diverse teams through planning, execution, and continuous improvement cycles.
- Practical experience in maintenance operations, including installation, testing, modification, and repair of equipment and systems.
- Ability to influence and motivate personnel across mixed services, driving integration and optimal performance.
- A high level of personal ownership, dependability, and motivation to succeed in a fast-paced, results-driven environment.
Education and Experience:
- This knowledge is considered to be normally acquired through the completion of Grade XII plus 2 years' further concentrated study (including trade certification) in Electrical, Mechanical or Civil or by having the equivalent level of education
- A period of over 6 years is considered necessary to gain this experience
