We’re on the hunt for a Systems Engineering Student on our Robotics & Space Operations team at our Kanata office. This is an 8 month Co-Op opportunity starting in May 2026.
Robotics & Space Operations: With 40 years of operational experience and proven performance on the iconic Canadarm programs including Space Shuttle and International Space Station robotics and operations support, our Robotics & Space Operations team has 100% mission success in making space dreams come true. As our Systems Engineering Student, you will be involved in a number of assignments on programs, including: being involved in design and requirements verification, procedure reviews, and testing hardware. This is an 8 or 12 month opportunity
Duties and responsibilities:
- Develop and ensure proper documentation of technical and interface requirements;
- Support documentation of high-level system and subsystem design;
- Providing review support for requirements, design, risks;
- Developing test plans and procedures for verification and validation of system requirements;
- Supporting in-lab integration and testing activities;
- Supporting troubleshooting of system behaviour anomalies, and determining root cause;
Education, Experience and qualifications:
- Be enrolled in a Bachelors in Engineering, Bachelors in Aerospace, or equivalent;
- Knowledge of Microsoft Office, including MS Visio;
- Highly motivated team player with excellent communication skills, and willingness to learn and adapt
Skills considered an asset:
- Hands-on experience with MATLAB;
- Hands-on experience with Python;
- Knowledge of System modeling and creation of system block diagrams
Comments/Special Considerations:
Successful candidates must obtain and hold security clearance at the reliability status level, and pass security assessment for the Controlled Goods Program (CGP).
