Cameco is one of the largest global providers of the uranium fuel needed to power a secure energy future. The Blind River refinery is part of Cameco’s Fuel Services Division.
Position and Responsibilities
As a member of the maintenance and technical services team, you will be responsible for the quality execution of projects to ensure company goals and business objectives are achieved. Projects are in various stages, ranging from concept/framing through to implementation. We are looking for a strong and dynamic project manager to ensure all aspects of project planning and execution meet the established requirements with respect to cost, schedule, scope, quality, health, safety and environment.
You will manage internal and external stakeholder relationships, identify and secure resources, report on project status to management, facilitate solutions, manage project risk and promote a culture consistent with Cameco values. You will manage a small portfolio of projects while reporting back to ensure alignment of program goals and objectives. Non-routine maintenance projects will include equipment selection, work planning, commissioning, drawing revisions, equipment file preparation, maintenance plan development and other related tasks while following Cameco’s design control procedure and management of change.
Education and Qualifications
Requirements of the position:
- Bachelor’s degree in a related field
- PMP certification, or professional engineering designation
- 6 to 10 years of combined work experience in progressive project management roles in a manufacturing or industrial setting
- Experience managing detailed design, procurement, construction and commissioning states of a project
- Ability to work in a fast-paced, changing environment, build trust and maintain positive relationships with a wide variety of personnel
- Strong commitment to safety culture
Assets:
- Experience in a technical field or trades with extensive project/construction management focus
- Experience with Microsoft suite of applications, SAP or equivalent system
- General aptitude for working or adapting to modern technology in project execution
