We’re seeking a bilingual communications manager to join our Corporate Communications team. Reporting to the Senior Manager, Marketing Communications for Satellite Systems, this is a new position created at our advanced satellite manufacturing facility in Montréal’s West Island.

Your role will primarily focus on internal communications, with some level of responsibility for external communications and events. This is an ideal role for a curious, versatile candidate who enjoys variety in their work, can operate in a complex industry, and is comfortable exercising a certain degree of autonomy in an environment where priorities can change rapidly.

Responsibilities:
- Help develop and manage Satellite Systems internal communication channels
- Assist in the development and execution of communications strategies to support Satellite Systems activities
- Draft and review content for Satellite Systems and MDA Space internal channels (articles for the intranet or the external blog, business-area emails, digital screens, newsletters)
- Work with graphic artists to create compelling visuals and content for our channels
- Ensure that content meets MDA Space guidelines and quality standards
- Plan and manage the Satellite Systems content calendar and collaborate with the MDA Space internal and external teams for the deployment of content on company-wide and external channels
- Lead or support the organization of presentations, events, special events, community activities and other assignments as required
- Monitor the performance of Satellite Systems content on internal and external communications channels, updated analytics trackers and develop reports to inform our strategy.
- Keep abreast of and advise on relevant trends and internal communication best practices.
Qualifications:
Required Skills/Experience
- Ideal candidates have at least 5 years of experience in communications, preferably in the high-tech sector and/or a publicly traded company
- Bachelor’s degree in communications, journalism or a related field
- Bilingual, with impeccable written and spoken French and English
- Strong written/verbal communication skills
- An ability to accurately simplify complex concepts without oversimplifying
- Solid analytical and problem-solving skills
- Highly motivated, enthusiastic, and a positive thinker
- Proven ability to work in a fast-paced environment and effectively manage multiple competing requests with great attention to detail.
- Excellent organizational skills; ability to manage multiple projects at once and prioritize what matters.
Beneficial Skills/Experience
- Strong ability to collaborate with local and global teams with diplomacy and tact
- Understanding of various communication channels, including social media, and how to engage an audience
- Knowledge of and competence in project management
- Photography/videography/visual editing skills an asset
- A love of learning
