Job description
- 49North is looking for an experienced, VICTORIA Class qualified submariner to fill the Miscellaneous Trainers On-Site Representative (OSR) position on the VICTORIA Class Trainers (VCT) In-Service Support (ISS) Contract
- This Full-Time position is located at CFB Stadacona, Halifax, NS where you will be working closely with uniformed instructors at the Naval Fleet School (Atlantic) at the Submarine Training Facility
Requirements:
The successful candidate must meet the following Mandatory Requirements:
- VICTORIA Class Submarine Qualification
- Be able to obtain a SECRET Security Clearance
- Proof of a secondary school education or have successfully completed QL6A training within the Canadian Forces
- A minimum of one (1) year experience in the past seven (7) years in operation or maintenance of real or simulated diesel submarine electrical systems
The successful candidate should have as many of the following Desirable Requirements as possible:
- Experience in the operation or maintenance of real or simulated diesel submarine air and hydraulic systems
- Experience in the operation or maintenance of real or simulated submarine diesel generator systems
- Experience in the operation or maintenance of real or simulated submarine external communications systems
- Experience in preparing training courses and material, and instructing others through both informal and formal training
- Knowledge/understanding of configuration management practices
- Knowledge of the following systems as found on board a VICTORIA Class Submarine:
- Main Propulsion Switchboard (MPS)
- Automatic Voltage Frequency Regulators (AVFRs)
- Air and Hydraulics Systems
- Diesel Generator Systems
- External Communications Systems
- Fire Detection Systems (FDS)
- Propulsion and Pilotage Systems
- Machinery Control Systems

Comments/Special Considerations:
Successful candidates must obtain and hold security clearance at the secret level, and pass security assessment for the Controlled Goods Program (CGP) and ITAR.
