Cameco is one of the largest global providers of the uranium fuel needed to power a secure energy future. The Role
As a member of the Technical Services team, you are a skilled and driven individual who will provide project engineering support to Cameco site operations, projects, and other business units. You will be focused on the execution and technical support of non-routine maintenance projects, primarily in Northern Saskatchewan. This role supports multiple, concurrent efforts in various stages of execution, ensuring projects are delivered safely, efficiently, and in alignment with corporate objectives.
In this role, you will:
- Lead engineering scope, schedule, and budget to support successful project delivery.
- Serve as the technical lead and primary point of contact during design, construction, and commissioning.
- Coordinate multi-disciplinary teams and resources across internal groups and external consultants.
- Facilitate and lead design reviews to ensure alignment, constructability, and quality of deliverables.
- Prepare and oversee scope of work documentation, tender packages, and capital cost estimates.
- Support procurement activities including bid evaluations and post-award technical guidance.
- Ensure all technical work meets Cameco standards, regulatory requirements, and quality expectations.
- Monitor project progress and provide regular updates on engineering activities and deliverables.
- Troubleshoot technical challenges and implement practical, results-driven solutions throughout the project lifecycle.
- Collaborate with site teams and stakeholders to align project objectives and support field execution.
Required:
- bachelor’s degree in engineering;
- a minimum of eight years of project experience, preferably in industrial or mining environments;
- eligible for registration with the Association of Professional Engineers and Geoscientists of Saskatchewan (APEGS);
- experience supporting engineering and design components of capital and/or maintenance projects;
- understanding and experience participating in a project-focused environment; and
- intermittent travel to Cameco’s northern Saskatchewan and Ontario sites by aircraft.
Recommended:
- strong communication, problem solving, and teamwork skills;
- engineering consulting environment experience; and
- experience with working in process plants, mills and underground environments.
