The Role
Reporting to the building operations supervisor, you will be responsible for the overall operation and maintenance of the building assets and associated equipment that Cameco owns/leases in Saskatoon.
In this role, you will:
- Supervise a small team of building operators by providing direct oversight, assigning daily tasks, supporting skill development, and coordinating resources for system shutdowns, maintenance, inspections, and repairs.
- Collaborate with internal stakeholders on projects and renovations as required, acting as a key liaison to support both short and long-term facility plans for Cameco’s Saskatoon locations.
- Promote and maintain a strong safety culture by ensuring all contractors and staff understand and comply with Cameco’s Contractor Management Program to foster a safe, healthy, and compliant working environment.
- Work closely with on-site contractors to resolve building equipment issues, including performing Job Hazard Assessments (JHAs) and addressing HVAC and BAS systems as required.
- Troubleshoot system irregularities by reviewing issues, consulting with subject matter experts, and implementing corrective action plans to address performance concerns safely and effectively.
- Contribute to building operations planning and continuous improvement initiatives by providing recommendations to enhance system efficiency and performance in the areas of temperature control, lighting systems, equipment upgrades/replacements, and more.
- Ensure overall building health, safety, and operational effectiveness by monitoring environmental compliance, interpreting system data and reports, and responding to occupant comfort concerns.
Required:
- Valid Saskatchewan or interprovincial journeyperson ticket in a relevant trade (electrical, plumbing, carpentry, refrigeration, etc.);
- Five to eight years of relevant building operations experience;
- Working knowledge of commercial facilities HVAC systems and occupational health and safety regulations;
- Previous supervisory experience;
- Excellent communication, customer service, and problem-solving skills;
- Strong aptitude for workplace safety and continuous improvement;
- Provide after-hours and on-call support as required by the business; and
- Class 5 driver’s license.
Recommended:
- Previous experience using building automation systems (such as Metasys).
