Accountabilities: How You Will Make an Impact
To deliver nuclear safety expertise to power generation utilities and other customers. The specific accountabilities of the position
are as follows:
- Develop and maintain nuclear fuel management codes, and provide support to users of the software as required.
- Support the development and administration of new computing platform, and help with transition of fuel management codes to the new platform.
- Requires coordination with clients and vendors to determine system design, hardware, software requirements and establish necessary specifications for purchases.
- Some travel to site locations within Ontario and interaction with site IT organizations is required periodically.
- Interface effectively with other staff and clients on multi-disciplinary projects.
- Provide clients with regular reports on progress at a predetermined schedule.
- Continue to train and develop professionally in the relevant engineering or science discipline.
- Other duties as assigned.
What You Need to Succeed
- Requires as a minimum, bachelor’s degree in an Engineering discipline, Mathematics, Natural Science, or Computer Science.
- 2-5 years relevant experience with software development and maintenance.
- Strong understanding of Fortran (F95) is necessary to support with maintenance and troubleshooting of analysis codes.
- Preference for candidates with working experience in the following:
- Familiarity with CANDU reactor design and operation
- Familiarity with Linux operating systems installation and administration, and ability to support migration of toolset from current platform to Linux.
- Prior experience with disaster recovery/business continuity/backup and recovery.
- Excellent written and oral communication, time management, and problem-solving skills.
- Experience in leading technical projects to successful conclusions.
- High commitment to quality and to providing value to customers.
- Ability to provide value-added solutions and to consistently deliver projects ahead of schedule and under budget.
- Able to work from Toronto office with travel to client sites in Ontario as required.
- Nuclear Security Clearance is required.
