Cigar Lake, located in northern Saskatchewan, is the world’s highest-grade uranium mine. The uranium produced at Cigar Lake is used for nuclear fuel products, which utilities around the world rely on to generate safe, reliable, emissions-free nuclear power. The Role
Reporting to the Site Services Supervisor, you will be responsible for operating a variety of mobile equipment to maintain the site, roads, and airport in a safe and effective manner. You will assist in training and monitoring junior operators and provide support to other trades on site.
In this role, you will:
- Operate a variety of equipment such as a vacuum truck, water truck, D8 dozer, 290 backhoe, 872 graders, Mack vac truck, and 744 loader
- Provide maintenance services to site roads (snow clearing/sanding) and to the airport runway/apron
- Prepare equipment for maintenance and collaborate with others to improve work practices
Required:
- Minimum Grade 12 or equivalent
- Five years of relevant work experience on loaders (various sizes), sand truck, bus, road roller, skid steer, and vacuum truck
- Equivalent combination of education and work experience considered
- C lass 1A driver’s license
- Work a rotational schedule and commute to site by aircraft
- Mechanically inclined (knowledge of equipment and hand tools)
- Willingness to perform manual labour as required
Recommended:
- Tandem vacuum and water truck experience
- Completed mining division (MD) modules for mobile equipment
