Position and Responsibilities
As a member of the design engineering team, you are responsible for direct supervision the drafting team including project assignments, providing guidance on project development, coordination, and scheduling of drafting resources to meet drawing requirements for the site. Provide oversight of the documentation process to ensure quality of drawings submitted by 3rd party resources meet Cameco’s requirements. Manage drafting requests through the SAP work order system, clarify requests with clients, and set priorities within the team. Coach and mentor direct reports.
Complete drafting work as required to maintain the backlog of work to a manageable state. Prepare various types of engineering drawings while ensuring work is done in accordance with Cameco’s processes, procedures, standards, and regulatory requirements. Drawings include P&IDs, instrumentation loop sheets, equipment and process piping layouts along with isometrics from conceptual to detailed construction drawings. Manage document control through drawing and valve numbering databases.
Issue permits for underground excavations ensuring all services have been identified and located prior to commencement of work. Drawings will be updated for new installations and as-built conditions.
You will also work in the process areas of the plant to take measurements, check details and assist the project engineers as required.
Education and Qualifications
Requirements of the position:
- Technologist diploma (or equivalent)
- Minimum 5 years of industrial work experience
- Superior people and problem solving skills
- Committed to continuous improvement
- Proficient in AutoCAD, Excel and SAP
