About Us
The Shoreline Power Group is a fully integrated Joint Venture of Aecon, United and Atkins Realis located in Kincardine, Ontario. Shoreline Power Group is the centerpiece of the Major Component Replacement (MCR) program which replaces the main components of 6 reactors at the Bruce Power Nuclear Generating Station. The scope of work includes the removal and replacement of calandria tubes, pressure tubes, and feeders as well as construction management and trade labor. This project is part of Bruce Power’s Life Extension Program, which will allow Bruce Power’s CANDU units to continue to operate safely through to 2064.
Reporting directly to the Occupational Nurse Supervisor, the Occupational Nurse will advise SPG and SGRT line supervisors on various medical, occupational health and Workplace Safety and Insurance Board (WSIB) queries and issues. The position is intended to assist in providing as much care at the site as is reasonably possible.
What You'll Do Here
- Ensure compliance with regulatory requirements, and responsible for securing and developing all records, equipment and programs related to occupational health services
- Provide first aid at site for joint venture personnel in conjunction with client’s site emergency response organization, evaluate and treat injuries and illnesses in an efficient and professional manner within the scope of practice and consistent with clinical nursing guidelines
- Provide post injury and illness follow up with personnel
- Maintain treatment log
- Maintain first aid cabinet and first aid room supplies
- Monitor and maintain documentation on any modified or restricted duty cases
- Develop and support early and safe return to normal duty plan in coordination with the EHS department and supervision
- Promote wellness topics and host wellness clinics for joint venture personnel (e.g., Flu shots, covid testing, etc.)
- Liaise with internal claims management staff, WSIB and medical personnel regarding any claims /case related issues
- Other duties as assigned
What You Bring To The Team
- Minimum qualification as a Registered Practical Nurse in the province of Ontario required
- Knowledge of WSIB legislation and process considered an asset
- Basic understanding of regulations applicable to occupational and environmental health and safety
- Occupational nursing accreditation or direct construction site experience preferred
- Previous acute care nursing experience preferred
- Ability to manage cases with a view to providing site-based treatment whenever possible
- Experience in nuclear considered an asset
- Detail oriented and ability to multitask
- Excellent interpersonal skills
