About the role:
At AtkinsRéalis, we are seeking an Indigenous Talent Acquisition Advisor to build and maintain strong, lasting relationships with Indigenous (First Nations (Status or non-Status), Métis or Inuit) Peoples, Indigenous student groups at universities, colleges, associations, not-for-profit organizations, and recruitment partners. This role will focus on enhancing our Human Resource (HR) programs and policies to support talent attraction, provide a positive onboarding experience for new employees, and promote the retention of Indigenous employees.
The Indigenous Talent Acquisition Advisor will play a key role in achieving these goals by networking with Indigenous professionals (both internally and externally) while promoting hiring opportunities to Indigenous Persons across British Columbia, with the potential to expand outreach across Canada.
Your Role Within the Team and Across the Company
Leveraging your experience in relationship-building, you will be responsible for conducting weekly outreach and engagement with Indigenous Peoples, Indigenous communities, educational institutions, and not-for-profit organizations across British Columbia. This will involve sharing information about current and potential job opportunities, as well as pursuing new relationship leads to support talent recruitment.
You will assist in identifying and recruiting Indigenous talent.
You will help develop, execute, and report on recruitment plans that measurably address assigned recruitment markets and project needs.
You will gather input from Indigenous employees on policies and programs that can better support their well-being, enhance employee engagement, and identify new ways to foster an inclusive workplace culture.
Your day-to-day role within Talent Acquistion
Your excellent written, verbal, and interpersonal communication skills will enable you to build strong, collaborative relationships with Indigenous communities, community organizations, and educational institutions, while effectively speaking and presenting to both large and small audiences.
You will provide guidance and training to recruiters and hiring managers, assess risks and recommend mitigation strategies within the hiring process, and utilize existing opportunity networks.
You will collaborate on HR projects focused on talent attraction, onboarding and employee retention.
Your experience
You have a deep understanding of working with First Nations, Métis, and Inuit Populations gained through direct work experiences and community engagement in both urban and rural Indigenous communities.
You possess strong skills in identifying recruitment barriers and can articulate solutions to remove them, while also applying an unconscious bias lens throughout the recruitment and hiring process.
Your strong network with local Indigenous communities and organizations is considered an asset. Be prepared to discuss your relationships with local First Nations, Métis communities, and organizations you have collaborated with, specifically in British Columbia, as well as any experience working with Inuit groups or organizations.
Position Requirements
A valid driver's license is required for travel to and from events.
Availability for a 37.5-hour work week with flexible, agreed-upon hours, and the ability to attend weekend events as needed.

Salary: $74 600 - $99,400
