Number of Positions: 1
Duration: 4 months (January-April)
Field of Study: Health Physics, Physics, Nuclear Engineering, Radiation Biology or other related Science and Engineering degree
Year of study: 2nd year or higher
What you will be doing:
- Completing CNL’s Radiation Protection training
- Providing RP Program management and oversight
- Helping operational Health Physicists provide support to nuclear facilities and projects
- Supporting the review and approval of RP related Protective Equipment and clothing
- Developing and implementing RP controls, processes and procedures
- Providing radiation safety officer services and management
- Maintaining radiation protection records
- Conducting RP related compliance inspections
What we are looking for:
- Education
- Health Physics, Physics, Nuclear Engineering, Radiation Biology or other related Science and Engineering degree
- Experience
- Experience with planning and conducting experimental measurements, hands-on work with particle detectors and numerical simulations would be considered assets.
- Knowledge, Skills & Abilities
- Ability to make decisions based on established requirements, procedures and practices.
- Able to collaborate with others in a team environment.
- The position is office work with the need to tour different facilities at the CRL site
- Security Clearance Eligibility Required
- Reliability Status with Site Access Security Clearance (SASC), which has a minimum requirement of 3-5 years of verifiable history in Canada, Australia, New Zealand, the United States and/or the United Kingdom. CNL implements security screening in accordance with the Treasury Board of Canada Secretariat's “Standard on Security Screening” and the “Policy on Government Security.”
